when everyone is out looking for a code.......what is it usually for? how much of a discount? can you use a code after you book? i'm looking into staying on site next year and have never stayed onsite before and i'd DEFINITELY like to get as many discounts as possible. going on a budget! hehe

Well you can get a code through regular mail on a postcard or from an email. Or a special deal can be found here like for free dining or a discounts for rooms, packages etc. But be aware Disney does not let you use more than one discount. Let say you booked a package with free dining & you got a 40% code you would have to chose between the two or rather which one work out the best for you but can not use both of them. It would be nice but as luck Disney is not going to give alot out free

As the previoius poster mentioned, the whole "as many as possible" idea won't work. (Yeah, I was disappointed when I first learned that too.)

Start with AAA-- you can get 10-20% off your room rates with that. Then go to the reservations site and request a planning DVD, and price out some options... hopefully that will let Disney know you're interested. Plan to go during the cheaper times of year (warning: that pretty much means hot muggy summer) or take your chances by planning September and hope for Free Dining. And open and read EVERYTHING that comes to you from Disney.

To answer your original question, my PIN code was for 40% off accomodations. But there's no guarantee that you'll get it (or that I'll ever get another.) I got one, so did my friend, but my sister didn't (and we all did the same things, none of us has been to WDW in about 20 years.)

unfortunately i work in a school system in MA so i'm limited to when i can go. we just got back from april school vacation. i had gotten the free planning DVD but never got any codes in the mail. can i only get them through mail? 40% accommodations is awesome! i'd love that!

We're teachers too, so it's August for us-- right between the end of the SAT prep classes we both teach and the start of school.

But look into AAA-- it's a decent enough discount as a starting place. Are you thinking this summer?

No sometimes it by emails but I have never been as lucky as some. I think 40% is the highest amount they give out. I am free most of the time it is DH who is hard to get off. His work likes to spring overseas trips right after I book a trip to Disney but before buying air.

we'll probably be going next april vacation. i'd love to go this summer but I need some time to build up the money plus the heat in august must be crazy and i work the summer program at my school.

Swan/Dolphin in the Epcot Resort area offer a Teacher's Discount that can save you some big bucks! You'll just need to show a school ID or pay stub when you check in to get the discount...you can find these special rates on the Swan/Dolphin website. They can be really really good!
