I've seen this in several responses and can't figure it out?
Sorry for the newbie question.....I tried to find it in FAQs and couldn't......

It means bumping the thread up to page one so it can be viewed by more people....at a different time of the day!

And BTW.....Welcome to the DIS and the CB!

 Welcome to the DIS Larry :) I hope you enjoy it here!

PS: If you come across some abbreviations you might not be sure of, here is a link to some. It is tucked away on the home page somewhere and sort of hard to find.

Another bump to the top - would hate to see this one drop down. ;)

Welcome aboard Larry, Im with you, i STILL dont know what it means "bumping it up to page one' ??????? What do they mean by page one ......I must be having a senior moment early :)

Just bumping this up to the top so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. . :bounce:

;)

Welcome to the DIS Larry!!! :) :) :)

I'll explain it in more detail, because I, too, didn't fully understand it. Every time a reply is added to a post, it becomes the first post on the page again. So...replying by saying 'bump' will make the post appear at the top of the page. What it really means is, "I don't have anything to really add to this post, but I don't want it to get 'lost' (meaning end up at the bottom, then to the next page) because no one is replying so I will put in a 'reply' so it goes back to the top". BUMP is much easier to type! So, if there is a question no one has answered yet, if it starts to appear lower and lower on the page, if you 'bump' it up, it will appear back at the top and you have a better chance of someone seeing it and replying to it.

Hope this helps!
Pam

A great explanation Pam! :)

By the way... Welcome to the Dis/CB Larry! :sunny:

It means the webmasters and moderators are feeling grumpy about something and they want to make sure everyone knows it.
