Dumb newbie question

a thought just occured to me. and I'm new at this so don't laugh- my home resort is SSR. If I am planning to stay there the end of Nov, and checking out the beginning of Dec, and I am supposed to start calling at 11 months out, I should've started calling already, huh? I was thinking because Dec was the 12th month that I could start calling in Feb. Duh!

Don't be embarrassed -- we've all had those moments when the light bulb suddenly appears. There are so many strategies involving the ins and outs of DVC ownership that every new ressie/stay becomes a learning experience.

that is for sure Calypso! I had no idea how involved it all is. But Disney planning is the best kind of planning. I just it just seems strange to be planning my 2nd trip of '05 when I haven't taken the 1st one yet!

I can't wait to download it. The only reason I haven't is because we have yet to figure out our first trip Once we do, though, I'm there! I can see myself doing exactly what Athenna did without it! PS - how can you stand your count up timer. That would depress me too much! However, once my count down timer was less than my count up timer, I'd be very happy

Thanks for the kind words. OK, guess I should have said Informational Plug.. The program is totally free with no strings, nothing to sell, just something to share with my DVC friends. Even though the old timers are well aware of it's existance, there are plenty of new members who probably haven't heard of it, so I like to put out a little post about it every once in awhile.

The count up timer was just for fun, it's not depressing at all but more a reminder of the most recent trip. And when the count down timer is smaller than the count up timer, it's time to celebrate.....

A. We sold back our first year's points, because we had just gone.
B. We're trying to figure out what we're doing for our 10 yr anniv. next year. I hope to figure that out this month (wating for prices on olympics packages). That will determine if we need to save up our points for an Alaska Cruise or Hawaii trade or if we are doing and extended WDW stay. Then I'll know if we're going this year or not.

Bill...you beat me to it! As soon as I read the OP's post, my first thought was that Caskbill's program would make this very easy indeed!

And I think you were just being modest and somewhat humorous with the "shameless plug" comment. It's a great piece of software that I use constantly.

Besides, any thread that gives me an excuse to thank you again for your efforts is a good thing!
