We played The Super Bowl of Social Studies..
Just o tell you it has nothing to do with the superbowl And there were 6 categories? I think. Geography levels 1-4, Geograpghy 5-8, Stone age, ancient Egypt, and Fertile Cresent.

There were 10 questions for each category. Each worth 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90, and 100.
And EACH class was a team.

People thought, the bigger question/points the better your team does.

They were wrong. They made fun of the people who went for 10 and 20 points. Just because they arent as good as some other people who went for a harder/100-90 point question, doesnt mean they arent smart!

I hate it when people judge is someone is stupid or smart.
Its just the way they are, they cant change that. Well they can, but the people who are judging cant.

I picked a 70 point question because its in between an easy and hard question.

I heard..and the teachers did nothing about it

" BOO! Cassidy BOO! "

Because i didnt go for a 100 point question.

JUST TO TELL YOU PEOPLE....

ALL THE 100 POINT QUESTIONS WERE GONE!
So they were being all mad at me...and i got my question right.

I hate how people judge.

Sorry about that :/
Yeah, I'm not a fan of judgemental people, either.
When people hear that I'm in AP classes, a lot of the time they're like "Jeez, you must have no social life with that amount of workload."
I mean, yes it's a lot of work, but yes, I still have an active social life.
You can't let it bother you, though. People judge, it's just part of life.

I'm sick of people thinking I'm smart and stuff.
I copy out of the back of the book like everyone else, I get confused like everyone else, and no, I don't know everything.
Even people who haven't known me forever think I'm brilliantly smart just because of good marks on tests... half of them are just good luck in my opinion.

yea, people judge and it sucks... ive been categorized in A LOT of groups haha...i know some people said that said they didnt like me at first just because im quiet in class... some peopl thought i was an actual "gangsta" cause i was always quiet and and looked pissed off ( just in my morning classes though lol ) ... than i was also considered pretty nerdy because i did well in school.. i started to loosen up around junior year and ive been pretty much myself... and people think im dumb now haha (no expected to hear that i was a bio major when i told them)... but ah well.. imo, just let people think what they want.. theyre only fooling themselves ;)

I also get judged as smart because I can be cold with people I don't know. I'll answer with 'yes's or 'no's and stuff like 'sure'. It can be difficult but once people get to know me I'm all shizz and giggles. I really need to get rid of this tendency, because I'm starting to be good friends with this guy, and sometimes when I answer his questions with 'sure' it kind of .. hurts him? Like as if I'm simply lying and I'm only putting up with him. He's nice and funny, I just have a hard time opening up.

im exactly the same way haha... around people i dont really know, ill be mr. serious or something... but around my friends, im like this guy :

Mm yeah.
I tend to get this like... steel barrier on me xD
Like anything anyone says it sounds like I'm not interested and that I think I'm better than them.
I usually feel beneath them, I just don't know how to get a good medium between terrified looking and 'you're not good enough for me' look.

OMG I think you are me! haha

Everyone says they were terrified of my freshmen year because I was "intimidating." The reality is that I was terrified of them! I just kind of keep to myself, not shy....just not really friendly either, its a habbit that I am working to break.

Anyways...
But stereotypes really stink. I go to an all girls school and whenever I talk about school with my other friends they are like "oh but your smart, whats the answer??" And they are ALWAYS bugging me about my grades. I don't tell them, they wont understand why my GPA is worse than theirs. (My school weighs it very differently from the public schools in my area, we are on a 4.00 system and they are all on a 5.00 system) And will probably just stereotype me as dumb.

ick! that sucks.
but honestly girl, if you're smart, don't be ashamed of it, I'm glad you went for the 70 pt question instead of just going for an easy one so that you don't "look like a nerd" pfft! you'll never get ahead in life doing that!!

I was given every label under the sun in highschool, I definitley got 'nerd' alot, because I got really good grades. But it's not like I did nothing and got by, and worked really hard because good grades were important to me.

I got 'teachers pet' alot, because I had good relationships with most of my teachers, I would talk to them outside of class and I just really liked and respected them.

I got 'drama geek'/'suck up' because I'd always get good roles in productions and drama classes, and of course, people would rather judge and lay blame, rather than realize how hard I work and how passionate I am.

And then everything changed in grade 12, I went from a suck up, nerd, teachers pet, drama geek.
To a stuck-up, snooty, prissy beeeotch (by people who WEREN'T my friends, obviously)...all because I started going out with theeee cutest boy in the whole school/world/universe.
People started HATING me too because he & I won prom King & Queen.
But I'm REALLY a nice person, and people just voted for my because I'm funny and nice & we're a good couple.
Not people I'm gorgeous, or rich, or mean.

People are always going to judge you, but you just have to know who you are and not let that stuff bother you!

OT: I totally used to LOOOVE it when we got to play those types of games in grade school!!

That's what I love about my school - we don't stereotype eachother. But we stereotype ourselves.

Most people classify us as nerds because it's one of the top schools in the state. But if people actually got to know us, they'd realize we're just the same as them.

And, im really glad i went for a 70 pointer, I dont really care if people call me a nerd or what. I'm smart. Big whoop. Thats their problem and they will be the ones name-calling and getting into trouble. I got that question correct and helped my dreamteam alot.

I hate sterotypes. Would you lose the points if you got the answer wrong? If so, then I thought that was very smart of you to do that. If you got the answer wrong, your team would have gotten mad at you for losing points.

No. If we got it wrong, we were able to get help from the kid of your choice. But i got mine right, and my team was very happy.
