DUL Agent slow to respond?

I have had generally good experiences with our DUL agent booking our DCL cruises. However, she is usually slow to respond.

This is not a problem - except I wanted to book a cruise the day it dropped (e-mailed a week prior) but she didn’t book/respond until several days afterwards so I believe we missed out on some savings.

Is this a common experience or should I ask to change our agent?

My Dreams agent is always super responsive-usually within a couple of hours (or first thing the next morning if I send a late-night email). Sometimes she'll even respond to let me know she saw the email and won't be able to take care of it right away but will get to it in the next day or so (for non-time sensitive things).

Did you explicitly tell the Dreams agent you wanted to book on opening day? If so, and she wasn't able to do that for you, I'd be disappointed. I get that TAs can be swamped on opening day, but your TA should have been ready for that, and either taken care of it or let you know that she already had a 'line' and might not get to you.

John, the owner of DUL, would be the first to tell you that you should be comfortable in your relationship with your TA. If your styles are different that’s enough to say you can request another. Personally, what you described would drive me crazy. I have booked two cruises now on opening day through my TA and in both cases she emailed my confirmation before I finished my morning coffee. She always acknowledges receiving an email with hours, even when I tell her she doesn’t have to (eg on a weekend). I’ve never gone more than 24 hours without a reply.
