Duffy in DCA Eliminated

So in August 2014, I was told by a few cast members that the Duffy experience in Disneyland California Adventure would be gone by the end of the month. After contacting the park via email, I got a call saying that was false. Well....I just got a photo from a cast member stating that it was true that he was leaving and least to say, I am extremely upset. I've emailed them again basically pointing out that they lied to me and I encourage everyone to call AND email Disneyland to give Duffy a chance!

Not sure what "the Duffy experience" would be? You mean the character doing the meet-n-greet? I can't imagine them getting rid of all Duffy throughout the resort area... But I have rarely seen any lines to meet Duffy, and his following just doesn't seem as big as it is overseas. I'll admit I adore Duffy, though
I think he has a cute story.

As far as being lied to... They have over 20,000 employees at the resort. There's likely to be people who don't know what's going on. That's essentially a small town--and how many people in a small town know the ins-and-outs of *one* specific person?

I'm sorry you received contradictory information, and I'm sorry that your favorite character may be seen less around the parks. (But, I bet he'll still be around during Long Lost Friends Week!)

I am HOPING they are moving him to the nearby gazebo for Halloween...I believe the same thing happened a year or two ago, where it looked like his meet-and-greet was disappearing but it just moved. Then November 1, I believe they immediately transition him for Christmas (they did in 2012). The area around Duffy's usual meet-and-greet area looks totally different for Christmas, so it would make sense for them to take everything down at Halloween if he's not meeting there during Halloweentime.

That said, last year it was reported that Duffy didn't get a special meet-and-greet area for Halloween, so I don't know what's going on now.

If Disney contacted you in August and assured you that the meet-and-greet wasn't going away and then he DOESN'T come back for Halloweentime, that does seem rather underhanded to me. You'd think someone from Disney who would bother to call you to explain the situation would know what was going on, so I don't know why they would give you misinformation.

(Regular Cast Members do often pass on incorrect information for whatever reason. If I had a dollar for every time someone said a Cast Member promised that Shellie May was coming to the parks soon, I'd be well on my way to buying my own from Japan.)

Anyway, I certainly hope Duffy is coming back and will be extremely disappointed and rather sad if he does not. And if it is confirmed, I will let Disney know my feelings, though given I'm far from their target audience for Duffy, they don't care what I think.

Either way, we should be pretty sure what's going on come September 12.

I thought I read somewhere that Duffy had been replaced by Oswald? I think it's unfortunate, I preferred Duffy.

There is a similar thread about this on the boards. Duffy is gone Apparently he's "hibernating" for the winter.

I emailed Disney a week ago but missed their call back. Never mind I didn't really want to have to hear a chipper CM say Duffy is gone anyway.
