Have just seen a pic on their Facebook page which says guess who's coming? and it's a pic of Mickey holding the 'new character', I've presumed it's Duffy. My DD will be pleased.

That's great news our Duffy could do with some new outfits :)

I am kind of half hearted about this. I think it's nice that the Parks have something exclusive like this - it kind of makes it a bit more special. But then I understand why they are bringing it to the stores too.

Oh dear for those people who paid £40-60 and upwards for Duffy bears bought from parks and sold on ebay :lmao:. For a while, they were going for serious money as you could only get them in the parks.

My DDs are going to be so happy when they see the Duffy Christmas outfit. I am sure at least one will be coming home with us. They would look nice dressed sitting under the girls' Christmas tree which is filled mostly with Disney ornaments and 'toy' type ornaments. ::yes::

In USA Duffy is available in Disney stores and their websites. I didn't think it wouldn't be long till he is in the UK stores.

Our store is useless though I asked about 2 months ago would this happen they told me Duffy hasn't come to DLP yet so won't be for ages. He was surprised when I shown him my phone home screen of DD in DLP with Duffy from march and told him he had been there since Christmas lol!

Sorry Leanne, I wasn't really including the US as I know they sell way more than the UK do. I meant more Europe.

Yes, our local store is pretty useless too - most of their staff had never even heard of Dreams in Paris! As the 'European' park you would think they would have a little bit knowledge about it, considering it was such a big deal/world premiere. But to quite a few there, I suspect, it's just a job not a hobby/passion like it is in some of the US CMs.

Oh right Duffy is just on such a different scale in US

We have 2 girls in our store who are AMAZING DH went in with DD last weekend Christmas shopping and they asked DD where's mummy? Lol DH said they all recognised DD and can't believe I missed an opportunity to go lol!

The manager is really good she goes to WDW and was a great help when I asked about cruises. But the rest are useless.

:lmao: They'll have you on the staff if you aren't careful!

I hope they carry a bigger range of outfits too because on our last trip to DLP the choice wasnt great. DD had her heart set on one but the outfit choice put me off. Maybe if the Disney store gets them he could sneak his way into her stocking. any idea on when he'll arrive?

I'm not sure I'm not hopeful before Christmas if you check the disneystore website right at the very bottom it say coming soon. It was wizard of oz an wreck it Ralph when I looked yesterday.

Even if the store doesn't get all the outfits be nice to be able to buy them online. I love the birthday one they have on the US website :)

Oh no just checked and it says Duffy bear Coming soon. May be he will be here in time for Christmas :cool1:

I'd put money on him arriving well before Christmas to allow shipping in time for the big day. It's so good seeing all the DLP merchandise on the DS website, I've been asking them for years! Seeing the calendar there means I no longer have to rely on someone getting it for me if I don't go one year, or go at the wrong time to get one.

Is it a permanent thing? I thought it was just for 20th anniversary.

I'd shocked if they stop selling DLP merchandise on the DS websites in Europe. 1) They must be making a killing, and 2) It's about time we caught up with the US website who have been selling Parks' merchandise for years.

I don't actually like this idea - I personally think that buying Duffy related stuff in DLP means more than just picking it up in store. There are more memories attached and each one comes with their own story i.e You tend to remember "when" you bought it and why, rather than a normal everyday trip to the Disney Store. Regarding other park merchandise, I don't like that being able to buy that either. I much prefer visiting and buying them there - like tree decs, our tree has the year ones on it and we know which years we've visited. Again they come with their own stories, I can even say which store I bought mine in and the giggles I had decapitating Goofy.....
What does however amaze me, is how popular Duffy seems to be with those that knocked his arrival, and spoke of how he was a merchandising tool. I still dont like him and while I understand others do love him, I really think he should be left in the park.

I belive he is being launched in the UK on the 13th December. I'm in London on that date so will be poping into the Oxford Street Disney Store to do some Christmas Disney shopping.
