I'm going to be at Disneyland for one day next Saturday 12/17. I've just been given the assignment of picking up a Duffy for a Christmas gift. I seem to recall in the past they were only sold in California Adventure. Is this still true? We are not doing a park hopper, so I won't be over there.

If they are...which shop? As I'll be on a scooter I don't usually do much retail browsiing, so I'd like to go directly to the correct spot.

They had these all over the cruise ship...wish I'd been given the assignment a month ago! :lmao:I'll be looking for one of the smaller ones (it is for a 2 year old), on the ship they had some dressed in PJ's which would have done the trick.

Thanks!

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I thought I saw Duffy at both the Emporium and the World of Disney in DTD on this last trip Thanksgiving week. I know they are more prevalent in DCA near AG and PP but I think with the main stores under construction, they had to offer Duffy at other places. I think I remember seeing Duffy in the Emporium near all of the Christmas things, but like I said, I could be wrong. Hopefully someone else with a better memory will be able to tell you with a higher degree of certainty. Hope this helps!

Duffy is much more prevalent this year (also in WDW, by the way, so it's not JUST a construction issue).

World of Disney and the shop near his meet-and-greet are still two of the best choices. You can get him at the Emporium in Disneyland but they just have Duffy and 2 outfits (the sailor and one other I didn't care for, if I recall correctly). Someone on another board said "The Disney Showcase" had the most Duffy things in Disneyland proper. I didn't actually go in there this trip so I can't say firsthand what is in there. World of Disney appeared to have nearly or as much Duffy stuff as the store by the Duffy meet-and-greet, so if a good selection of outfits is a must, that's the place to go.

Regarding the outfits, I BELIEVE they still have a deal going on that if you buy 1 17" Duffy, you can buy 2 outfits at 50% off. (It has to be 2 outfits, not just 1.) So definitely take advantage if you can! It brings them down to lower than Build-a-Bear prices, and a few of the outfits are pretty good quality.

Hoping to find one smaller than the 17 inch Duffy...inside Disneyland.

I will be at Storytellers for Sunday breakfast and could manage a quick trip into World of Disney, as long as I don't take the 6 year old with me! :lmao:

Thanks folks!

The smaller, 12" Duffies all come pre-dressed. I believe their hats (if applicable) are always sewn on but the clothes are likely removable. The larger, 17" Duffies come without clothes, and then you can purchase clothes for them.

In November they at least had a Christmas 12" Duffy in the window of a shop on the right side of Main Street as you come in...I'm not sure if they had others for sale, but I imagine they did. In fact, the Emporium had a Happy Birthday Duffy (12") if I recall correctly. The Christmas Duffy is very cute but I'm not sure that his mittens come off, and if they don't, I think that really limits play value. Since he's seasonal it is possible he'd be sold out by now, but I don't know.

If ANY 12" Duffy will do (and you're in America, which it looks like you are...neighbor?) you might consider ordering from the Disney Store. They have the 2011 Hoodie Duffy for $15, which is half the price of a 12" Duffy in the parks. The hoodie comes right off and he kinda fits into some Build-a-Bear clothes. I just got mine today...his nose is a bit tilted but he's still cute. Unfortunately, most (all?) of the discount codes for the Disney Store are not valid on Duffy, but if you have a code for free shipping, that could work. Or shipping should be something like $4.50 I think, which will still put you ahead of buying at Disneyland. Unless you need the Duffy to come from Disneyland, of course!

It would be fun to pick out a Duffy, and some of the outfits they have on the 12" ones are way cuter than the 2011 bear's (that one presumably came out in January or earlier, and they've improved designs since the initial costumes). But you've gotta love that price, and the bear himself seemed fine.

The tiny magnet and keychain Duffys should be available in that store at Disneyland too, I imagine, and most definitely World of Disney if that fails. While dining you may receive a 20% coupon on your receipt that's good 'til 12:30 PM at the Emporium and World of Disney, so if you get one and you are budget-conscious, it could be worth checking for a coupon and if you get one, waiting until Sunday to buy at World of Disney.

They now have Duffy and several Duffy outfits, items, and the book at the first shop on Main Street on the right hand side, Disney Showcase.

As of a few days ago they had the smaller Duffy (I don't know the size) that comes with an outfit in a New Years 2012 outfit, they also had a Duffy with a first visit outfit and a few others in this size with various holiday-related outfits. These are the ones that you cannot buy just the outfit, but a bear and the outfit. Logic wants me to say there is a Christmas one, but I somehow cannot remember seeing that specifically.

They also had Duffy's book, a little Duffy ornament, I think there was a Duffy keychain, pin set, hmm, some other small Duffy trinkets that I am just not recollecting right now.

I know this is not what you are looking for, but for the benefit of others, there were also outfits sold solo for the slightly larger Duffy. There were not all the outfits that are available across at DCA, but quite a few. The ones I remember: sailer, Mexico, Canada, Pirate, China, and some others. There was also a super cute santa outfit.

HTH,
Dreams

If the Disney Showcase has the keychain Duffy it probably has the magnet-pawed Duffy too (my personal favorite). I'm not fond of the ornament; it's totally off-model! :headache: Just buy a keychain and I'll make a flannel scarf and mail it to you. ;)

Thanks everyone! I'll hit the Main Street Shop as soon as I get there (while I still have shopping energy!).

My nephew has the 17 inch Duffy and a pirate outfit might be a nice addition to his collection!
