Be gentle first year. Have two contracts, paid one off in full, other still has amount due. We have a trip planned for 1-22-10. Does the remainder have to be paid before I check in? If I get there, and havent are they like, sorry folks, the mouse out front.... If I call and set up a payment plan, can I choose to just split it up into two monthly payments? Or is it over the full year?
 
I'd suggest you contact Member Accounting for the latest view.

If you are talking 2010 year dues, then there should not be an issue with paying them monthly. I don't think there would be any problem if you set it up monthly and then elected to pay the balance off after one or two months, but why let Disney have your money when it could be earning interest (a paltry amount, yes, but still some) or be a cash reserve during the year in case you had some emergency?

If you are talking the 2009 dues, then I think they really want them paid before you check in. I believe that is one of the prime ways to prevent delinquencies.

Again - please talk with Member Accounting tomorrow for their official info.
 
I believe the policy states that dues are payable by January 15 or arrival at a DVC resort and are considered late if not paid before February 15.

As already suggested I'd check with Member Accounting prior to your arrival to see how the policy will affect your stay. There is no additional cost to use the auto-debit plan and you can pay that off earlier if desired.
