Hi all-
My last 2 dues debits from my checking account (I have 150 BWV points) went down from $63.70 to $47.33 per month? Anyone else? Is this normal? We've only owned for 15 months.

check out the documentation given to you at the time of closing. Sometimes, your first few months of dues are higher because your catching up payments for the months before all the paperwork was processed from the date you became a member..and they prorate the dues etc. As of 2001, you may be paying your actual monthly dues. Call member services and talk with member accounting, I've always found them very helpful.

Have a wonderful day!

BWV dues are around $3.83/point so 150=$574.50 or $47.87 a month. The actual is always off a little because the taxes are usually over estimated and you get a credit from last year. So your new payment sounds about right for this year. I would try to find out why it was so high prior to this.
Last year the dues were $4.02 not enough to make that big a change.

We bought in July 2000 so our dues were higher than normal for the rest of the year since we were paying for a whole year's worth of dues in only 5 pmts or so (since we had use of 2000's points, you have to pay the dues on them). Beginning in January 2001, our dues dropped too, since now we have spread a year's worth over a full year.

I was under the impression that dues are prorated back to the "agreement date" on your paperwork. I was not aware that you had to pay dues all the way back to the beginning of the first use year...

I think they are speaking of resales. But even when you buy from Disney and the dues are only from agreement date, it may take two months to begin debiting your account. In that case, they may divide up what you owe over the months left to pay. This would also cause that.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs", Karl Marx,This has failed every time it has been tried, why do we still have liberals?

Dues are always prorated to the agreement date, if purchased thru DVC. If you buy in July, you will only pay about 6 months of dues on those points- until Jan- when the dues are billed again.
Depending on how you have set up your payments, it is entirely possible that the debited amount could go down. Enjoy!

We bought in Aug. and our dues payments didn't begin debiting until November....so we had 2 payments that were almost double, but then the dues went down also..so our payments were even less than we had expected.
