Duelling Dragons currently closed?

Hiya,

I was just wondering if someone could set my mind at ease? I was browsing around for info re World of Harry Potter and found some construction photos. On them it *looks* like Duelling Dragons is behind the wall they've put up and therefore I'm guessing it is shut atm? (for the remodelling I guess).

Could someone please set my mind at ease? We head to Orlando in May and I'll not be too happy if the only coaster at Universal is Hulk (I'm guessing RRR won't be open sadly)

There's a different entrance now, but you can be happy and ride DD to your heart's content.

Considering the new entrance is a real pain, I would recommend riding early...once it gets busy it will take forever to go through the line.

After the summer rush is the most likely time for Dragons to close. So you should be fine in May.

Well...DD never really had what I call a separate line since both lines merge at the loading area. It's going to take longer regardless but I think you can only ride Ice with Express if it's busy. That's what they've been doing recently.

Yeah...they did that several months ago and then stopped it. But I think it's been reinstated. If that's the way the line will work during busy season, look out for the huge lines. I'm not going over this weekend so I can't check it out first hand. Maybe someone else will.

We rode both Fire and Ice several times last week with no waiting. One day we were there and rode them first thing in the morning and a different day it was late in the afternoon just before closing. There was no need for an express pass those days. We were so lucky!!

I wonder if that will be the case this week and next week (we will be there 4/12 to 4/16)?

Just to add on to what others have said, I e-mailed UO group sales recently asking about an event going on May 8th. Two of my questions were whether or not Dueling Dragons would still be open, and wheter HRRR would be open by then. The answers given were Yes and No, respectively. I've heard that they expect to keep DD open throughout the summer rush, as it is a big draw. So, not to worry.
