It was closed a couple days ago for construction. According to rumors it should be back end of March, start of April, but that could change.

In honor of Blizzrock and Pyrrock...RIP

Our dd has been so excited to go on Dueling Dragons since last October when we decided to spend a day at Universal. So much for that idea. It was closed along with Posieidon which was closed.

We loved Universal Stuidos but we were not so impressed with Islands of Adventure. A few rides were good but the park just didn't do it for us.

Not sure if it was because we were there in the late afternoon (we did US first) but it seemed deserted. Things weren't open. We felt like we were walking through an abandoned park. We could have saved the time walking if there had been signs posted saying - nothing open after this point!!!

If we go back, we will pay only to go to Universal Studios.

Sounds like you had a bad experience, but I've never had anything like that happen. Each time I've gone to IOA everything's always been open :goodvibes and very packed :rotfl:

Don't give up on it :thumbsup2

Is Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge getting repainted,I mean it's supposed to open up again soon so I don't think it will.Another website had pics of what they think is a new paint job,and from the pics I saw I disagree as he thinks it's a slight change in color with the Fire Dragon becoming a more magenta color and Ice dragon a brighter blue,I think it was just the sunlight making the tracks look a little different and I don't think if they were going to repaint it the colors would be almost identical.I actually want it to be repainted,if it's going to be a new theme for a new area it should look totally different, all kinds of crazy colors black, green, purple would be OK by me.Has anyone seen the track in the last couple of days to confirm it hasn't been painted,I would be dissapointed if it has been painted and it's almost the same colors.

I can see it from school everyday and the tracks still look completely the same to me.

I'm sorry you had such a bad IoA experience. IMO IoA is one of the best themed parks and this summer the park will most likely look the best it has done in ten years, with all new paint jobs going on all over the park and new Harry Potterland.
I hope you managed to enjoy all the other great things the park has to offer, such as Spiderman, Popeye and Jurassic Park. Three of my faves

(Perhaps you were lucky that awful Posiedon was closed...:rolleyes1)
