Hello fellow DISner's!!
My 15 yr old son would like me to ask a question of all the knowledgeable folks here.
If he wears flip flops to the park (all those water rides) can he take them off for DD??
I can't remember if I saw people taking them off and putting them on the exit platform or in cubbies or not.
He doesn't want to carry his heavy sneakers in the backpack just for 1 ride. I told him to wear his Teva's; they have a strap that snaps on.
Thanks for any answers and help!!

He can not get on DD without shoes so he will have to get on while wearing his flipflops. After he gets on, he can take them off and sit on them. I've seen many people do that. There is no cubby at the loading platform to put them in.

I have sat on my flip flops many times on Dueling Dragons. You will see lots of shoeless people riding. Just be sure he wears them while boarding.

Thank you themepark!
I see you have been to RPR quite a few times! ::yes::
We're going there in 8 days!!! Woohoo!!
Which room did you like better durning your trips? I know we want Tower 1 since we walk to to the parks. I would love to be able to see the fireworks. We have 2 and a half days there before we head over to BCV for the rest of our vacation. I hope we have time to enjoy the pool at RPR. Your trips were short as well, did you have time to hang at the pool at all? I'm also dying to go to Tchop Chop, Mythos & Margarittaville. I think I need to plan more days next time! I may have to forgo Jimmy Buffet for Tchop and do that next time. We're lucky if we have 1 sit down meal a day on vacation. We're too busy having fun to stop and eat for more than a half hour.
Thanks for your reply!!!

I'm not themepark, but we wer in room 1633 at the RPR and had aaaaaa GREAT view of the fireworks. However, depending on when you're going, there may not be any fireworks. This room was at the end of the hall right by the stairway leading to the path to City Walk.

Hi gschmerl
I actually wrote down your room number from your trip report since you did say it was a good room.
But what do you mean, NO FIREWORKS???? Why not?? :worried: We're going on the 29th to 31st of August. It's bad enough that the parks are closing so early, but no fireworks. Bummer!

I'm not sure when the fireworks end. I thought it was the end of August, but I certainly could be wrong. One of our on site experts should know for sure!

Hey! You know...it seems like I remember that the fireworks were supposed to end around the first of August. I could be wrong though. Let me think about my room numbers. We have always been in Tower One. Once we stayed in 1252, second floor last room on the left facing IOA. Even though we were on a low floor we could see Hulk and Dr. Doom, the water taxi canal, and the fireworks. Once we stayed in 1617 I believe. It faced the hotel front and if you looked to the left you could see USF. It was a nice peaceful view although I prefer the IOA side. Another time we were on the 4th floor but I don't remember the room number. It was facing IOA and we went to the right when the hallway forks. Last time we had Room 1650 which was awesome!! We could see Hulk, Dr. Doom, Dudley, and even Dueling Dragons in the distances. If there had been fireworks then, we would have had a spectacular view.

Yes, you should have pool time. On each of our trips, we have enjoyed pool time at RPR and also visited PBH's beach pool and the HRH pool. With the FOTL access you will be able to see and do everything in the parks and still have time to lounge. Since the parks are closing early, you can always take advantage of evenings at the pool. When we visited HRH and PBH, we went as soon as we got up then after several hours at the pool, went to IOA for water rides. It worked great for us. Definitely go to Mythos. It's such a treat. I haven't been to Tchoup Chop so can't comment on that. We love Margaritaville because it has such a fun atmosphere. Our kids LOVE to eat there.

Have fun! Be sure to post a trip report when you return!

Actually, with the parks closing at 7:00, it won't be dark enough for fireworks!!

I guess we'll just catch the fireworks over at Disney. No biggee I guess.
Themepark - great idea on pool time before parks, I do that sometimes over at Disney since we have AP's and I don't mind missing some time at the parks. Plus we do go there all the time. I made reservations today for Mythos during our trip. I'll book Tchop on opentable.com. We'll wing MV when we get there. I'll write down 1650 too since you loved that one!!
Thanks so much for all the help!!!

We saw many people do this on Tuesday when we rode Dueling Dragons!
