Dudley Do-WRONG!

Ever since the fire in 2011, I feel like Dudley has been breaking down constantly. Every time I go, Dudley breaks down for the rest of the day. Yesterday, the gates to let riders board broke. The engineers had to pick up some of the floor panels to manually control the gates. In the end, they ended up shutting down the ride.....because of the gates. In my opinion, the fire did more damage than they thought. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this ride keeps breaking?

It's water, electric, and mechanical. also it was contained to one area and not inside.

I know you may not be an expert on mechanics, but do you think a massive refurbishment could possibly solve some problems? Wasn't Dudley part of the original rides opened in IOA?

Anything is possible. I have been to US and IOA so many times I have lost count. I have to say that when I have been there it has been open 95% of the time not including yearly referbs. What I normally see the most is certain parts of the ride not working or being repaired. But this goes for most rides.

lol, I think there are too many water rides at IOA. If you go during cooler times, that's a lot of rides to be skipping.

Yep, we normally skip them too in the winter unless its sunny and above 80 but that's rare.

I love that ride!

It has never been down when we were there, only ride that has been down while we were in FL is Test Track at HS. Oh, and Snow White's Scary Adventures at MK.

DH wishes it had been broken when we were there. I thought that it drenched us quite unnecessarily. I agree with the above sentiments- time for a new ride!

I love the water rides and love that one. I pretty much only ride the water rides, even rode Popeye in January. That ride wins a lot of awards. maybe just re theme it, most kids probably never saw the cartoon or movie.
I have been at the front if the line before and the gate arms got stuck, we waited about 20 mins.

I am just happy it doesn't have simulator screens, it seems all the new rides do, so I can't ride them.

Yeah- maybe a re-theme would be good since most kids never heard of Dudley. But I love the ride! I go on wet rides to get wet, so....

shhh...don't tell anyone but I've heard good rumors that Toon Lagoon may be getting an overhaul in the next 2-3 years

I love that rumour! Hopefully those guys at OU keep up their good track record with their rumours!!!

I haven't heard that rumor. I don't feel on top of things anymore. Personally, I would love to see no overhaul. I just feel that TL could use a huge refurb.
