We are looking forward to our British Isles cruise this September 2018. Can anyone recommend a tour company for seeing Guiness and Trinity College/Book of Kells? DCL doesn’t offer this combination. Or could we do these on our own? How to get the needed transportation? Let us know your experiences in Dublin. Thanks!

It’s quite easy to do on your own. The DCL free shuttle will drop you off about 5-10 min from Trinity College by foot. Buy your tickets online to get in faster. We bought ours on our phone while in line to get in and saved at least 20-30 min wait.

The Guiness storehouse is a bit far by foot. I would grab a cab from Trinity to there, then back to the shuttle after the visit.

Dublin is very walkable and safe. We had a blast visiting on our own and saw plenty of things. Queen of tarts, which many people rave about, is overrated.

When our EBTA stopped in Dublin, we did the HOHO bus. An inexpensive way to get around to all the places we wanted to see. Trinity College, Guinness, the Brazen Head Pub (Ireland's oldest) and the Harley Store were all within easy walking distance from the stops on the HOHO.
