Hi,
We didn't have dual coverage for a long time and I am thinking to get dental (may be medical) from my employer as well...

How does it work?
Say if my kids already have coverage from my husband's work, and I am thinking to add them to mine. Do I first submit the bill to DH's insurance, then wait till I receive the reimbursement and submit the bill along with his insurance's statement to my insurance?
How do I determine which one is the priminary for my kids?

we have dual dental and love it. My husband b-day is in May and mine is in July so it automatically makes him the primary because is b-day is first.

The dentist send the bill to his insurance co first then whatever isnt covered goes to my insurance. They the dentist office takes care of the paperwork

I have dental and dh has atnea

You could probably contact your HR department or the insurance companies directly to answer that question. Not sure if the rules vary by state. I know in past policies I have seen it written state that whichever parent's birthday comes first in the year is primary.

We both have Delta but only DH is double covered. Good thing because he need the most stuff done. The dentist takesncare of ALL the paperwork, we have yet to pay $.01. All I had to do was provide them with the information they needed. Piece of cake.

unfortunately my kid's dentist won't deal with the insurance, normally we just filed ourseleves. Does anyone have similar experience and have to submit to both insurance companies.

We don't have dual dental but the kids have dual medical and what is needed to file with their secondary insurance is the claim form and the Explanaition of benefits from the primary insurance company.
