DU Still Giving Gifts?

I noticed several weeks ago, after I made my 7/3/2004 reservation through Dreams Unlimited, that the res. noted we would receive a free gift since there were 9 families booked through DU on that cruise. The number of families later dropped to 7, and since the minimum is evidently 8, the free gift note went away. Now, there is no mention at all as to number of families booked through DU.

Does that mean the free gift been discontinued?

I didn't book with DU for a free gift, I booked with them because of their excellent service and the convenience. However, I just checked my reservation with DU, and you're right...all mention of number of families booked and free gifts has vanished!

I too noticed the absence of the additional information about other DU cruisers. My family will also be sailing on the Wonder DEC 7th., 2003. Myself(39), DW(41), DD(11), and DS(8). Hope to see you their.

I hope that they didn't discontinue the gifts!! We were up to 14 booked before they took it off our reservation. My aunt has e-mailed our DU agent and asked, so I will let you know when I hear.
Hopefully it's just a glitch in the reservation system.

I thought there are some TA's that give a FREE cabin for every 8 booked, so you could split the difference among the 8 cabins. That is what I read in Arthur Froemmers Budget Travel.

Hi All

Disney Cruise Line is currently changing the way it handles the free gift for multiple staterooms on thier cruises (i.e the gift mentioned on your reservation review page).

While we wait for all the specifics to be worked out with DCL, DU has decided to remove this information from that page.

Hopefully this will all be worked out soon.

We have 43 cabins on the 10/11/03 cruise! Last year my sister got a wonderful goody tray! I hope thay continue this offer!

So up to this point DU posted that based on the number of families booked, there would be a gift (which is true in my case) but now is gone.

The potential exists that when a family arrives in thier stateroom and find no gift that they may not realize that DU removed the offer. I understand policy can change but in this case something is being taken away.

Maybe DU should notify customers of the situation because up to this point most customers were expecting a gift.

Gee, this makes me sad. I was looking forward to the DU surprise! I always thought of it like a little bit of pixie dust. It wasn't as good as an upgrade, but it was a nice little something, you know what I mean?

It's kinda like being an Indian giver. . .

Everyone take a deep breath and re-read John's post. The gifts are not being taken away, they have just removed the page for now. Let's just wait and see what happens
