I'm looking for recommendations on hotels near DTW that offer park and fly.

Thanks in advance!

PS I apologize if this is not the right place to post this. It is kind of related to getting to Disney World, so I thought this would be a good start. Please let me know if I need to move this! :flower3:

Try La Quinta Inn Detroit Airport Romulus. They offer park and fly. The reviews look mixed online. I have never been inside but I have seen the outside of it. It looks ok from the outside. I think it would be fine. We usually park our car at the Qwik Park long term parking that is right behind there and the Qwik Park shuttle bus always stops the front door there to pick people up. The bus always seem to pick up alot of flight crew who must also also stay there. Let me know if there is anything I might be able to help you with. I live about 25 minutes from the airport.

Good Luck!

here are the ones we have stayed at: Howard Johnson---OK
Laquinta----------OK
Four Points-------GOOD
Spring Hill Suites--EXCELLENT
Clarion------------POOR

We have 3 Kids and found the Sping Hill suites to be the best.

We stayed at the Hyatt at DTW our last trip. It was AWESOME. It's right in the airport and has it's our security and gate. It has valet parking and the park n ride includes a weeks parking.

We had a very early flight out last time, and this option really made our trip so much easier. They even picked up our luggage from our room for the ME.

You may have to call....sometimes the parknride is not listed on the website. It will be a bit more then the other options, but in the long run we found it worth it.

We stayed at LaQuinta last year. It was convient with the QwikPark lot being attached to the hotel. Hotel was fine for a one night stay. Certainly not a dump or a dive. You get 8 days parking with their ¨Park,Sleep Fly¨ rate. We are using them again this year.

:cool1: Thanks everyone for your replies! We checked some hotels last night, but I'll go back and revisit them based on your recommendations.

The last time we flew out of Detroit we stayed at a Baymont and we ended up missing our flight due to their very dumb shuttle system. We kept getting bumped off the shuttle to the airport because they took flight crew first, even though we reserved our shuttle months in advance and reconfirmed at one week, one day and then again at check in. We ended up having to fly DTW to Tampa, rent a car, and drive to Orlando, getting in hours later. It was so not good. It was either do that or not be able to get there until late the next day. Baymont ended up paying for the rental to drive from Tampa to Orlando, plus gas, and picked up our Detroit hotel, but still, it was really not good. I look back at it now and wonder why in the heck we didn't just call a cab. :confused3 Oh well. Chalk that up to one of our biggest, if the the biggest, travel mistake of all time. I can kind of laugh about it now five years later, but still..... its irratating!! Ok...thanks for letting me vent!!! :)

Thank you! We looked at them last night and it seems convenient to have the parking right there, and I like that its secure. They said online that the lot was locked, lit and patrolled.

Wow! I didn't even check there. That's super cool they picked up your luggage at your room. That'd make it way easier with four little ones! Thank you!

That's funny! After posting this, I remembered that Grandma flies out of DTW once a year. I called and asked her where she stays and she said at the Spring Hill! :) I'll be checking them out later today too. Thank you!

my sister just did this last month - i'll ask her where she stayed and how it was...

Great! Thank you!

Thank you! La Quinta has come up a few times on here. I'll look at them again later today as well. Lots to do today!!

I have a lot of family from that area. Canton, Lincoln Park, Brownstown, Fraser, Taylor, Roseville, etc. :)

We use the Four Points and have always had a good experience. With the kids, we want a hotel with large rooms and an indoor pool (to wear them out so "too excited to sleep" isn't a problem) so we pay a little more than La Quinta's rates to have that.

got an email from my sister - she didn't do park and fly...
instead she parked at her regular satellite lot - Airport Parking (the one with yellow shuttle buses).

then she had the airport parking shuttle drop her at the Marriot (right next door)...

then in the morning, she took the marriot shuttle to the airport..

when she got back to detroit, she took the airport parking shuttle back to her car..

she said the marriot was really nice...and she's pretty picky, so i guess it must be nice..

The Spring Hill Suites is great, we stayed there before our last flight to MCO. It had been open less than a month and still had that new room smell. The time before it was the NoComfort INN , I will not stay there again!
