We're leaving Friday for Wilderness Lodge...

We have a van that you used to be able to watch television in, before the DTV conversion. Does anyone know what we need to buy to watch TV again? Is there conversion kits for cars? I've also heard that some HD signals can't be picked up if you're going over 5mph??

Thanks for any help!

Inquire of an auto parts store whether they have a "digital TV set top converter box" for use in the car, namely using a 12 volt DC power supply.

If not then you would need to buy an ordinary converter box and a 12 volt DC to 120 volt AC "inverter" to plug it into.

You might be able to tap it into the antenna at a point under the front fender although it is possible you would need to cut the cloth on the car ceiling to access the antenna wire and jack.

Never heard of difficulty picking up digital TV signals when the car is moving but I can imagine it could be a problem if you know what the Doppler effect is.
