DTD Transportation to Park Schedules

This will be our first time staying offsite (Hilton Walt Disney World). We just planned to walk across teh street and take the DTD bus transportation to/from the parks every day, but I read somewhere that the buses to DTD stop at 1AM (or somewhere around there). There is one night where we want to take advantage of EMH (apparently allowed with the Hilton room key) at MK that go until 2AM. Will we be able to get back to our hotel? Would we be better off renting a car and just paying for parking each day? Does anyone who has used Disney transportation while staying at the Hilton WDW have any advice?

Buses don't run to the parks from DTD. You would have to transfer at a resort. And you will not get to the parks until noonish.

Yes, you will be much happier if you rent a car. I wouldn't even attempt to stay offsite without one.

It sounds like you'll be staying at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista, which is the one across the street from DTD, and the only one that offers EMH access.

That Hilton offers it's own shuttle service (or, more accurately, participates in the DTD Hotels' shuttle service), which runs buses to all 4 parks every half hour. For MK, the bus goes to TTC, and you then take the monorail or ferryboat to MK. It may not quite get you to MK in time for rope drop, but it think it will for the other parks.

The buses stop at other hotels along Hotel Plaza Blvd., and don't run quite as early or late as Disney Transit. but I've heard it's a reasonably good service.

I'm not sure whether their shuttle runs until the end of MK EMH nights; you should check with a bus driver after you arrive. If not, it might be worth it to just take a cab home that night, or perhaps rent a car for that day.
