What is the easiest way to get from Doubletree DTD to SOG to buy our Military Salute the Troops tickets? Thinking saving the tax may be worth the time of a little travel. We don't have car so I need to know where to take buses to.. Thanks in advance:worship:

You have several options.

1st, you can take the Doubletree bus to the TTC, then transfer to a SOG bus. If the driver asks, just show your ID and tell them you are buy tickets. In my one time riding the SOG bus, he didn't ask.

2nd, you can take the Doubletree bus to the TTC, then walk (head towards the Polynesian, then find the crosswalk and the pathway to SOG)

3rd, you can take the Doubletree bus to the TTC, then take the monorail to the Poly, then find the crosswalk and walk to SOG

4th, you can walk across the street to the Disney DTD bus stops and take a bus to the Poly, then find the crosswalk and walk to SOG.

Hope this helps.

Anyone have any idea what kind of tax savings we are looking at? I think an adventure on first day (we get there around 4:00) would be fun. I do have a group to take with me to get their tickets also. We also have to purchase one more additional 5 day with options, think I can get military discount on this add purchase???

I believe the only place to purchase the Military Salute tickets are from your ITT/ITR office or Shades of Green, so there really isnt a tax at either place.

The base ticket is $99 for upto 5 tickets (then its regular price)
Then you add on $25 for Park Hopper, then add on another $25 if you want the water parks fun and more option. You could end up paying $149 per ticket if you went with all of the options for 5 days which isnt bad at all. And of course the Military Member (sponsor) Active or Retired is free for 5 days with both add ons included.

And for those that dont know Disney is offering up to a 40% off discount on their hotels and a small discount on their dining if you stay on property. This is for ALL hotels (Value, Moderate, Deluxe).

We did SOG in Feb for $900 (all disney hotels were booked) and we are doing ASMo in Dec for $1500 for a 7 night trip. We bought our tickets all at one time (but the costs that I listed had the tickets broken up into the correct trip).

And for those who dont know Universal is also offering a discount for the military. The service member gets a free 7day ticket to both parks and can purchase (i dont remember how many of these) tickets for $89 for their family which includes both parks also. But unlike Disney if you dont go to the park 1 day in that trip your ticket cancels out (meaning you have to go all 7 days).

Thanks! I didn't realize there was a bus to DTD from SOG.

There was back in Feb when we went. Its just parked in a completely different location from the disney busses. We got lost at DTD and were very tempted to catch the Poly bus and walk back because it was right there where we were, but DH wanted to make sure we got on the SOG bus.
