We are staying at the Radisson and have to get over to the Swan in the morning but I was looking for a good and yet not too expensive place to feed the crew of 5 breakfast first thing in the morning.

Is there a good breakfast place around the area? Also is there a Publix on the way from the airport?

There's always McDonald's :). If you want a sit down breakfast and have the time, the Perkin's up at Crossroads is yummy!

Perkins is a good choice (not at DTD but near), but there is no longer at McDonald's at DTD.

Earl of Sandwich is Yummy, but I've never had breakfast there.

Not a Publix, but there's another grocery store (I believe Goodings?) pretty close to DTD (same shopping plaza as Buffalo Wild Wings, Taco bell, etc.).

When did McDonald's leave DTD? It was a good place to grab a soft drink while walking around. Is anything in it's place?

There are several off various exits from SR 528 and SR 417 on the way from the airport. But I'd suggest the big Publix store at the corner of International Drive and Vineland Avenue (about 2 miles from the Radisson) near the Premium Outlet on Vineland and across the street from the Hilton International Drive timeshare resort.

Thank you so very much for the Publix store. I think that is the one I have read about.

I am now thinking we don't need DTD restaurants but more family style restaurants in the area. We have a car and Perkins or a cracker barrel would be good.

I was thinking of the McDonalds right outside DTD at the intersection of Hotel Plaza and Apopka-Vineland. I think the Raddison is between it and DTD if memory serves.

There's a Waffle House that next to the Radisson. We haven't been there in years (13-14 years?) and weren't impressed so haven't been back again.

Perkins is on the other side of the hotel at the Crossroads shopping center complex - it's walkable from the Radisson as there's a sidewalk.

Denny's is a bit further up the road - maybe half a mile from the hotel and on the same side of the street.

Shoney's is on the opposite side of the street just past the Palm Parkway intersection.

I think that the closest Cracker Barrel is probably the one on SR 192 in Kissimmee (I think you can U turn shortly after turning right from the hotel and go about four miles to the intersection with SR 192, turn right and go about another mile to Cracker Barrel which is on the left). There's an IHOP down there, another Perkins and a bunch of other restaurants.

And on supermarkets - there's a nice Winn-Dixie about a mile from the hotel.

The McDonalds in DD closed in April 2010.

Disney just can't stand having non-Disney operations make a dollar inside "their" areas! So we get stuck with 16 YO cast members that can't properly heat a frozen burger and pay twice what McDonalds charges all because Disney wants total control & all income. Drive about 1 mile down the road to the Crossroads - there is a McDonalds right there (and plenty of other REAL restaurants as well - not cast member run same old crap that Disney serves up). Another reason to always have a car - avoiding the horrible Disney food & prices.

Thanks so very much, we were looking for some non disney dining options yet quick to serve.

I think we will be set with this great list of places to eat.

I stayed there last year. Our kid loved going to Denny's because of the balloon artists they have sometimes. It is real colse to the Radisson. Just turn right out of the hotel parking lot and drive only a few blocks to get to Denny's which is on the right.
