Some friends have just informed me they are going to WDW in FEB. and will be staying at one of the DTD resort area hotels, what type of transportation is avaliable at theese resorts? Can you walk anywhere? I know they have buses do they stop at every DTD hotel? THANKS!!!!

We stay at the Hilton at DTD. There are 8 hotels in that area and they have a seperate bus service from Disney but it now only does one side of the road so a maximum of 4 hotels (they collect and drop off at the ones at the DTD end first). They run every 30 minutes. Personally we have never had any problems with the service and find it more than adequate. You haven't said where you are staying but there are things you can walk to at both ends of the road. DTD is 5 mins from the Hilton - you need to add 5 mins for each hotel the further away you go. At the other end of the road is the crossroads shopping centre which has a supermarket and numerous resturaunts. There is also a minigolf place. It is a 20 minute walk from the Hilton. There is a walgreens another 10 minutes further on foot as well as tourist type shops and more resturaunts.
The lynx bus (50) now runs along hotel plaza boulevard which runs to seaworld and downtown orlando.

Off there in 21 days and counting!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Thanks for the info! Also do you have to pay to park at the parks?

There are also actual Disney resorts that are designated as being in the Downtown Disney area. Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, and Port Orleans fall into this category. Each of them has full Disney bus service. There are also boats between each of these resorts and Downtown Disney. Saratoga Springs is within walking distance of the Marketplace, and Old Key West is within walking distance of the West Side.

Whoops on my part!!!
I never think of these when people mention DTD hotels. Do you know which hotel your friends are staying at?
As for parking if it is one of the hotels along hotel plaza boulevard (non disney hotels) then you do have to pay at the parks unless you are annual pass holders.
