DTD parking changes start 11/20

Disney announced today that the DTD West Parking Garage is expected to partially open to Guests on 11/20. The entrance will be at the east end of the garage, opposite Team Disney (which has been closed throughout construction.)

Site preparation for the East Garage & Town Center will begin on 12/1, which will require closure of the remaining Marketplace & PI parking lots. The PI (opposite Hess) and Marketplace entrances will be closed.

Also, beginning 10/31, the West Side taxi stand will move from between Disney Quest & La Nouba, to behind HOB. No word on whether taxis will still be available at Marketplace after the parking lots close on 12/1.

What is the status of the plan where you can park at Animal Kingdom and there will be buses to take you to Downtown Disney? Is that going on? I kind of remember it as: starting at 3 PM and lasting all evening/night, park at AK and buses will take you, no fee to park.

No, that was a test and only lasted a few months.

Too bad. It still sounds like a good idea since parking is still super awful at DTD.

How horrible is parking in the late morning/early afternoon? My boys have a BBB appointment around 3:00 pm on 12/4. I'd really much prefer driving and would be totally willing to valet. However, I don't think that's an option until after 4:00 pm. I thought we'd go in the late morning and have lunch first. Any suggestions for someone that wants to drive and not use the buses? Thank you!

By 12/4, the Marketplace parking should be closed, and the new garage should be at least partially open, so the current situation is not really a good predictor of how things will be then. It all depends on how well the new garage will be working.

You probably will have to walk a bit further to BBB from your car.
