We are intending on visiting DTD on 25th Feb for the Mardi Gras parade at 10pm.
Three things I would like to know:
1) How long does the actual parade go on for?
2) Where are the best viewpoints?
3) Is there much to do after the parade suitable for familes? (kids are 11ys and 8yrs)

Thanks,

I believe it is on the 24th, not the 25th. The 24th is Fat Tuesday.

Big V,

Thanks for that. I have just realised that the link I was looking at is from 2003 - derrrr!!!
I see now the dates for 2004 are 20, 21 & 24 Feb.
With that in mind we are no longer going to do the 10pm parade (after doing Illuminations cruise) but will do the 8pm parade instead - probably on 21st.
So, my 3 questions remain the same

Thanks,

ps - just what is Fat Tuesday??

Fat Tuesday = Mardi Gras

The day before Ash Wednesday is Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras.

Hi Sweeny Todd! Where did you get the info on the parades? I would like to go and take our 11yo DD to see it. My DW and I went alone to Mardi Gras at PI in 2001 and we had a blast! There were quite a few kids there too. It's just a party atmosphere, but I'm sure it's nothing like New Orleans, although I've never been there.:sunny:
