could someone please give me some info on these 2 properties? i have a reservation for both and don't know which to chose. the rate is the same for both. thanks a bunch

Hello, lijory

I Have only stayed at the Best Western. It was in 2002 before room renovations. I think it would be a really nice place to stay.

The Holiday Inn has "Kids eat free" (don't know if you have any children). Just keep in mind that some of the rooms face I-4 ( I think) . noise may be an issue there.

Oh, yes the DTD buses would pick up at the Holiday Inn before the Best Western. Not really an issue unless you are going during a really busy time, like July.

Anyway hope this helped you out and didn't confuse you more!!!LOL

I had to make the same decision - which Hotel Blvd property? After reviewing the websites, the properites seem to be comparable for amenities. We've decided to stay at the Holiday Inn. A consideration for us is that the Holiday Inn is a bit closer to Downtown Disney - hence a shorter walk for us.

thank you. anyone else have any info???? ....ncbryne, when are you ataying? i would love to hear about it.

We have only stayed at the Holiday Inn (when it was the Courtyard Marriott) and never the Best Western. So I can only give you my opinion on HI and can't compare.

We enjoyed our couple days at the Courtyard Marriott DTD (now Holiday Inn). We didn't go to the parks those days, so I can't help with transportation issue to parks. We thought our room was sufficient and it was definitely bigger than our rooms at the moderate hotels at Disney. We also had a balcony with a pool view room so it was nice. The room seemed ok, like a typical hotel room anywhere in the US. We didn't notice it being overly worn or in need of renovation. We also didn't notice any smell, that I have heard others mention. They did seem to be retiling or something in the lobby towards the back as there were those little "Caution" cones and warning tape strung around. I also recall the elevator seemed to have seen better days. The pool was nice and typical hotel pool. No theming. But my kids just like to splash around so they thought it was great. But it was no Storm-along-Bay like at the Beach Club at Disney. They had a managers reception with cokes and nachos and popcorn in the afternoon. I am not sure if this will continue with the new ownership, but if so it was a nice addition. The CMs treated us very nicely and seemed more friendly than some of the CMs I have encountered at Disney resorts (like CSR). Note this review is coming from a family who likes a good deal and who do not expect "fancy" things. We normally stay at moderates at Disney and have even stayed at the All Stars. So, if you are expecting Grand Floridian accomodations, you may be disappointed. But if you don't expect a lot and just want a nice cheaper place to stay I would recommend this.

If you can get this for a good price ($50 or less) it is a good deal. Especially if saving money on the hotel will mean you get to spend it elsewhere like on Mickey bars or a few Character meals.

Here is a link to one of my trip reports from last June where I decribe the hotel and room with pictures. The Courtyard Marriott description comes after my description of our Amtrak trip. So you have to scroll down a little.

We'll be staying here May 2-5. From there we move to the Dolphin (May 6-9) and the final three days at the Sheraton Safari (May 10-12) Splitting our stay between different hotels adds something extra to our vacation. The trip is 10 days, but we only have 5 day PHPs, so we'll spend time doing non-Disney things too.

I've stayed at both hotels in the past, I don't think I'd stay at the Holiday Inn again (it was the Courtyard then). The tower rooms were OK, but our last stay was in the wing of the hotel. We had 3 rooms, all smelled musty, the hallway was musty smelling also and you could easily see that there was a water leak inside of the hallway wall since the drywall was falling off! The air conditioning wasn't good at all and very loud, I had asked 3 times during the week to have it looked at. Each time I was told it was fixed, NOT! Luckily I had the $20.03 rate so I wasn't too disappointed. The previous stays there were always nice, but not the last one.

We have also stayed at the Best Western a few times and have been very happy there. It's strange but even when that hotel was full it kinda felt like we were the only ones there. All the rooms have balconies and if you get the side facing Epcot you can see the fireworks from the balcony. My vote is for the Best Western, we weren't dissapointed yet.
