DTD Entrance and closest hotels (walking)

We have always stayed at Harbor & Harbor/Katella area hotels/motels due to their close proximity walking to the Harbor side security/Disney entrance (think Tropicana, FFI&S, Sheraton Park). Now that there is a second entrance open (the DTD), are there closer hotels on that side for walking? There used to be a map here of ACTUAL walking distances for the closest hotels but not sure if that has been updated to include that entrance? It looks like the hotels on the Katella/Disneyland Dr and/or Walnut side are a bit cheaper so considering looking at one of those but have no idea what that walk is like and/or pros/cons.

Devil I know vs....cheaper Devil?

Looking for a trip early Sept with me and teen boy so we can be a little further but tend to like to keep the walk < a mile if possible (and the less under the better). Any recommendations or tips appreciated.

We recently stayed at Eden Roc and it was nicer than we thought! Walk wasn’t bad at all. Beds were super firm. That was our only complaint!

We have often stayed at one of the two best westerns right there on katella. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the down town Disney entrance at the Disneyland hotel. We opted to stay closer for a our next trip though at the Tropicana now that we have a baby. Much easier to quickly get back to the hotel for a nap for her.

We stayed at the Residence Inn and found it to be a nice halfway place between the DTD entrance and the Harbor entrance. I want to say it was .7 miles to Harbor and closer to a mile to DTD. The Harbor walk in particular is very pleasant. We are DVC owners and always stay at the Grand unless it's a last minute trip. This was our first stay off property and we are so glad we tried it out. I was worried about the walk after a long day at the park, but it was basically a nothing. I actually find the walk to the Disneyland Hotel more of a grind, LOL. I think it's because of the crowds and remembering the old days when they had a monorail stop. Yes, I'm old!

I feel like the Best Western Plus Park Place is the closest in walking distance as it looks directly into the Disneyland entrance. But it's still $200+ a night. Those hotels next to Best Western PP have about a 7 minute walk time. I like the Howard Johnson as it's cleaner but no breakfast is provided. I generally stay at the Hyatt House because of the added amenities.

Looking out further Sheraton Park is about 15 minutes.

Not sure how far you're willing to walk? But you can always get on a bus if that specific Hotel provides one.
