Was just wondering how DLs dtd compares to WDWs??
We love spending time in the worlds downtown as there's so many great Disney themed shops plus lots of fab restaurants.
Have never visited DL before so we re living in hope their DTD is as amazing as the worlds.

Any advice is greatly appreciated :goodvibes

There are a number of good resturants. But much less in the way of Disney themed shopping than at WDW. There is the World of Disney Store, a vinylmation store, and a couple of places that have some clothing geared toward teens that are disney related. You can have a really good time in DL's DTD, but don't expect it to be as large or as varried as WDW's version.

The nice thing though is it's about a 2 minute walk from the gates of either park.

ITA, especially the last sentence. Where as you can see the edge of DTD from the gates at DLR, in WDW it is the worst bus trip in the whole resort.

There are some good shops there. Another reason I love DTD at DL over WDW is that they have live music on the weekends during the summer (several musicians play about 50 yards apart from each other and it just adds so much ambiance). I really enjoy DTD at DL alot. It's nice to have your resort hotel so close too!

The monorail also stops pretty much right at DTD in DL, then you can ride it right back to tomorrowland :)
But yes, it takes like 2 seconds to walk there from the gates.

yeah DL DTD is maybe half the size of WDW DTD but i count that as a postive cuz i hate having to walk so far to go to store to store, one thing i wish DL DTD had that WDW DTD has is Ghiradelli soda fountain....best ice cream EVER!!

I love DTD at DLR. I like the one at WDW as well, but I think the one at DLR is actually nicer. It's smaller, but I prefer that because it's less chaotic and "over the top." It's really just pleasant to stroll through - doesn't feel as manic as the one at WDW. Plus, it's SOOOO much easier to get to! As a PP mentioned, there is a lot of live music in the evenings which is so fun - lots of kids dancing and having a great time! Several restaurant choices with nice patios and plenty of shopping - what more Disney shopping could you need on top of WoD??
