DF and I have tickets for "La Nouba" on the Saturday night during our trip this fall, and I'm trying to decide on a restaurant in Downtown Disney for that night. Any suggestions? Right now it's between:

- Wolfgang Puck's Upstairs (my first choice, but the menu I saw on WDWIG.com seemed a bit lacking for things that DF and I would like)

- Cap'n Jack's (would like to try this place, but no PS reservations = probably no chance for dinner!)

- Portabello Yacht Club

- Fulton's Crab House

I'd prefer a romantic setting for our pre-Cirque dinner. Planning on dressing up a bit just for fun. We're seeing the 9PM show of "La Nouba", so we'll probably want to make a PS for 6:30PM or so.

Thanks!

I'm afraid I haven't been to Portobello Yacht Club since 1992, but my wife and I had a romantic meal with good food there way back when. They had very good thin crust pizza appetizers and tasty pasta dishes. The Unofficial Guide says it has been slipping, though.

DH and I LOVE Fulton's! We've never had a bad meal or service there, however, from what I've read we've been lucky. Cap'n Jacks, on the other hand, has always been a big bust for us! Long wait, bad service, okay food.

Portobello's is decent (was there last August) but it was pretty noisy. Just depends on the day.

Can't speak about Wolfgang...haven't gone, but one place we really liked was Bongo's. It's a supper/dance club and while noisy, we found the music and decor really sexy! People got up and danced in the aisles!!! The food was different...cuban/latin. We had fun!

It doesn't really matter which you choose....romantic is relative to you....if you are like us, every place is a romance!!! If you have a car, you could always try one of the more quiet resort restaurants and drive over!

Hi Penny! Thanks for the suggestions. We'll be using WDW transportation for our stay, so dining somewhere close to the Cirque du Soleil theatre will be a priority that night. I'm leaning towards Portobello's right now, I think. Thanks again!

House of Blues is pretty good. Haven't done dinner there, but have eaten lunch there and enjoyed it. It's real close to Cirque, too.

As much as I enjoy Fultons's. I would say for a romantic dinner go to Portabello Yacht Club.
