Do they still do this?

We used it 2 years ago but we were 'Virgin holidays' travellers that time around. This time I have booked the flights direct with Virgin Atlantic, so could I still use this service or will they send us away ?

The charged VA customers last year, think it's the same this year too.

ANY passenger flying on the Virgin Atlantic flights can use the DTD checkin, whether booked direct with Virgin atlantic, or one of the travel companies, Virgin holidays, TCD, or any travel agrent.

VH have an agreement with VA that their passengers do not pay for DTD checkin. This INCLUDES passengers booked with TCD as its classed as part of VH

If you are flying with VA or booked through another travel agent there is a charge, unless you are
a) Flying Upper Class
b) are a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold card holder.

Just so you know, the charge is $10 per passenger which you pay at DTD on the day.

Our tickets (well e vouchers!) arrived this week as we fly out on Friday:banana:. They included a slip reminding us that we can use DTD check-in (booked with VH)-so yes still operational.

wow, forgot all about having tickets/e-vouchers :lmao:

don't know what to do about luggage tags either as virgin provided these?
I will see if I can dig out the ones that came with the cases, don't suppose we really nedd them as I always put a slip of paper inside cases with our info on.

I think they have them available at the check-in desk but as you say you don't really need them, everything Virgin need is on the tags they print out.

I just had a letter from Virgin talking about this so I know it is still offered, cannot remember what the charge was though.

They charge 10€ to use the service for VA customers, VH is free

Its part of your package price with Virgin holidays or TCD.
If you are flying with another travel agent you have to pay, or direct with Virgin Atlantic, unless you are
Flying Upper Class
or
have a Virgin flying club Gold card
then the use is free.

We used this for the first time in July. Check-in opened at 8.30am. We arrived at 8.00am and had 20+ passengers in front of us.
Cleared quickly and we were on the road by 9.00am :thumbsup2

We have booked with Openride (Disney UK), so will we have to pay?

I take it you are flying with Virgin Atlantic?
If then yes.

Not trying to confuse people, but DTD checkin is ONLY for passengers booked with woever, flying on a Virgin atlantic flight from Orlando international Airport

Sorry, yes we are flying with VA. I thought Openride was a part of Virgin in the same way TCD is, which is why I wondered whether or not we'd have to pay.

Well bugger me! i did not realise that! just had a look on their website as I thought it was WDW to find:-
"This site is owned and operated by Openride Limited, an English registered company (Registered Number 03733202) having its registered office at Company Secretariat, The Office, Manor Royal, Crawley, West Sussex, RH10 9NU "
The home of Virgin!

U woukd check with them as they may not be part of Virgin holidays group even though they are Virgin

Yes, it's all rather confusing! They're Virgin in disguise! I'll just see when I get there I guess, I'm ok with paying the $10 if I have to.

Hi,
Just arrived back today and used DTD check-in. A word of warning - they will not accept any bags above 23kg even if the combined weight is well under. People were having to swap things about from case to case.
On the plus side, it was also very quiet at 8.30am.

Sorry, I should have added that you could pay $70 to leave the luggage overweight.

What about for premium and upper class? I was told that I still have 3 * 32 kilo allowance as I booked before the weight drop.
