We haven't been to WDW for 7 years. Last time we went we set aside the last day for DTD and were really disappointed that it seemed mostly restaurants, shopping and pay-then-pay-more "experience" stuff (LegoLand was cool). Looking for opinions. If we didn't care for it first go-round has anything been added that would make it worthwhile?

Disney Springs is pretty much just for shopping and dining, although there is bowling.
My family like to just wander around or grab a snack and watch the world go by so we went a few times on our latest trip, and we really enjoyed some of the new restaurants!

Nope. Just more shopping, more dining. It's a giant outdoor mall.
The only * would be unless you are going at the Holiday's. They do add some things during the Holiday's like Santa, displays, etc. It is worth a trip then. Otherwise, nope. We rarely go (and I love shopping, just not something I go to Disney to do)

After seeing the transformation from DTD to Disney Springs, we will not plan on visiting there on future trips unless for a specific purpose. It feels like an average shopping district, not Disneyfied enough for us :)
The only draw for my husband and kids was Disney Quest, with that closing it doesn't seem like enough of a draw to take us away from the parks or our resort.

I think a lot of people mistakenly expect DownTown Disney (and now Disney Springs) to be some sort of free Disney Theme park.
I go to it on arrival day, but I've never really been impressed with it and have had no desire to go there besides one afternoon. While the Disney Store and the shops of the Marketplace are cool, that's about it. The Disney Springs transformation seems to have turned the rest of it into a high-end shopping mall.

Disney doesn't really need to promote itself via this area though, so this is just a tourist trap, where Disney gets rent from high-end shops and restaurants that want to be right in the middle of the biggest tourist draw in the country.
