DS and his fiancee are getting married this August now. He starts the latter part of August at Wake Forest University's School of Divinity at Winston-Salem, NC. Orginally he was getting married July 12th, then they decided December, and now August seems to be it. She has decided she wants to go over there with him. I do think he will do better if she is there. She graduated about three weeks ago with a degree in Social Work from East Tennessee State University. She wants to find a job in NC and help him with his expenses so he can concentrate on studying. I know he would be unhappy five hours away from her too. They have gone today to pick our gifts at Walmart, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Proffitt's (a local nice department store), and Sears. In two weeks they are going to NC to secure an apartment. He has already turned in his notice as a youth director at his church effective the second week of August. They are getting married at his (and my) home church because it is a beautiful church for a wedding. Center aisle, stained glass behind the pulpit, great lighting, I know, I am bragging but it is a pretty church for a wedding. Her minister is doing the ceremony. I think they are looking at August 30th so they can have a three day weekend. They do not want a reception. They want to pay for most of the wedding themselves. After the ceremony they want a receiving line at the back of the church to greet the people as they leave and then do pictures. Then they want just immediate family to come back to our house for a small cake and coffee. DH and I have a pool and are thinking of putting up a canopy type tent by the pool and put the cake under it. DH says that won't work because it might be way too hot and the icing on the cake might melt. Oh well, it sounds like a good idea. DH and I voluteered to do the whole reception and have it at the church but they said they didn't want to do that. Doesn't really matter to us though one way or the other. Thanks for listening to such a very long post! HUGS all!
You all will be busy.
