DS's dog.....snake bite.....update in post #10

Cherokee got to come home yesterday. He is still limping a little but you can tell he feels much better. They sent him home with an antibiotic pill and a pain pill, he gets both 3 times a day. Do you know how hard it is to get a dog to take a pill? And I thought getting kids to take medicine was bad.

We put the pill in a treat and our dog just gobbles it up. We use the Puperoni dog treats as they are soft and we can push her allergy meds into it. She just chews it up. She knows when we stay-'get your medicine' that she gets a treat. Cheese works too.

I will have to try the cheese. He doesn't care much for the puperoni treats, we've tried those in the past.....he likes hard crunchy treats.....his favorites are the little bite size pieces you get from the "feel your own bag table" at Petco - good training aid size. I tried to slip the smaller pill in his mouth with one of those in the hopes he'd take the pill but he ate the treat and spit the pill out.

DH just called, he went by the hospital to see him on his lunch break. He was feeling much better and all over DH for loving & petting. Vet said copperhead. DH had to put down a $400 deposit last night.....balance due above that was $2 and change.

Oh, and in case anyone wants to bring up the thread were we had to take our DS's dog to the emergency vet for a snake bite Tuesday night that cost us $431+ we were able to work out a payment plan with them. I couldn't let the poor dog just lay there and suffer and possibly die a slow painful death.

So did he pay $400 that night or did you make a payment plan?

Thanks, he was feeling much better today. Just barely limping and his energy level is coming back up. He really gave us a scare. Vet said that their blood pressure bottoms out is usually what causes them to die from a snake bite. Maybe a type of shock from the venom.

Actually I never said anything implying that I was not going to pay the tuition. Was asking if the school could legally withold the records. Some posters were kind enough to answer the original question and I do so appreciate that. Talked to the school today and worked it all out, they needed me to come by and fill out a formal withdrawal form and sign agreements to pay the amounts due on a schedule that was agreed upon.

Some people here should seriously get jobs as tabloid reports, they are really good at twisting information.

no one twisted anything...fact- you have not paid your childs tuition, fact- you asked "friends" for free wdw tickets because you could not afford to go,fact- you found a free place to stay, fact- you went on a land/sea wdw trip THIS year and are planning to go back in Dec. These are ALL things you put out there for everyone to read and comment on.FACT people who save all year and pay their own way will get testy when others ask for a free ride.What was twisted? The only people that think this is ok are people that have done this and been called out on it.If this is how you want to live thats your buisness but if you do not want to be called out for it do not put it all out there for people to see.This is a PUBLIC forum.
I hate this because A LOT of people NEVER get to go to wdw because they can not afford it or because they can just afford to take care their familys and not go on big trips.There is a family that lives near me that have 2 kids that will NEVER get to go...i wish I could take them but it is pricey...I get them school supplies and clothes but theywill never have access to free tickets....you have been already why not let them give those tickets to kids that have never been?KARMA

For taking meds, we've had great success with putting the pill in a gob of peanut butter or tucked inside a slice of hot dog or rolled tightly up in a piece of cheese or deli meat. It helps to give him the treat/pill and then have another treat right in front of his nose so he'll snarf down the first one (containing the medicine) to get the second one.

I'm sorry...but why the heck do you care how she manages her bills? Why do you care which school her kids go to? Why do you care that others don't get to go to Disney but she does? Why do you care that she has friends that help her out??
And, to the poster who asked about her payment to the vet.... OMG..why???
