Which is the better service? Im think of switching from Cable to DSL. Is it worth the money that I would save with DSL? Or would I miss cable too much?

TIA

I am interested in opinions on this too!

If you're close enough to the telephone exchange, I'd say go for it. DSL is generally cheaper and a bit slower at peak speeds (though my DSL actually beat the cable connection I have now). But DSL speed doesn't vary like cable. In my experience, it's also more reliable. I lose my cable connection at least once a month. In 2 years of DSL I lost my connection only once.

In terms of speed, you probably won't see much of a difference. The only thing I'd be concerned about with DSL is I'd check how far you are from the CO http://www.dslreports.com

If you're marginal for DSL that could affect reliability.

Can only share my experience with both.

At home we have Verizon DSL and could not be happier with it. On the one occasion when we had a service interruption, we were able to get a very cordial and helpful HUMAN on the phone immediately who explained the problem and told us when we could expect service back. He was accurate.

At work I am stuck with Comcast Cable modem. It is horrible. We have internet out at least once every day. Also, we get these slow periods where internet is up, but crawling.

Today, I have no access to my Yahoo mail at work because of a Comcast problem, but have no such problem at home via Verizon.

Good luck!

I've had cable now for 3 years and in all that time I've only had 1 outage due to a storm that blew a transformer out.

I'm very happy with my cable connection, and because it's bundled with cable tv, I get a good deal on it. Customer service with TimeWarner is excellent and I've never had an issue with billing either.

We have cable along with our phone and tv, and are very very happy with it - me even more so now with wireless! =)

I bet alot depends on the individual companies... ours has never been out, and is usually lightening speed, and we have a good relationship with our company (grande)

I haven't had DSL, but know people that do and they are very happy, too!
