My DSis lives in Tampa and I told her about the free DDP. She planned to call on Thursday for Labor Day Weekend. She called me today to tell me that last night her nail salon was next to the AAA office so she went inside and spoke to an agent to book the package through them on Thursday. The agent said she would call her before 9 AM today as to whether she was able to book it now instead of waiting until Thursday. AAA called as promised by 9 this AM and told my sister she was all booked for the free dining. She could not get her first choice at Pop but is staying at ASMusic. For three nights and one day base pass for 2 adults, it is costing her $422 and some odd cents. She does not have a Disney Visa so how was AAA able to book it today? Do you think the agent booked her in the package and is going to change it on Thursday?

why woukld they change it on thursday is that when the annoucement is?

From what I've read, if it isn't booked with a Disney Visa it will automatically cancel. They can tell if it's a Disney Visa by the first 4 numbers of the card. There is no way for her to call and check since AAA now "owns" the reservation though.

This is my understanding as well. I would have her call tomorrow and get to the bottom of it.

Yep, deposit HAS to be paid on Disney Visa. I had to switch mine when I called in Monday--we have a Disney Visa but I had paid the deposit with Mastercard. CM had to credit my Mastercard the $200 and then charge it on the Visa.

My guess is the TA booked it w/out free dining, and will switch it on Thursday.

Actually, on second thought--$422 sounds really high for just 3 nights at a value and one day base tickets. Values are only $82/night during value season--so figure about $246 for resort. Would two one-day base tickets really be almost $200?! I have no idea what tickets prices are for just one day.

I'd have your sister re-do the math, and make sure she's not actually paying for the dining plan.

Her pricing is absolutely correct.
It's $82 a night plus tax for a value resort during value season. All Stars is at a 13% tax rate, which would be about $32 total tax, bringing the resort total to about $278. Then the one day base tickets are $67 plus tax (which is 6.5%), bringing a one day ticket to about $72 each. Times two, that's about $144. Add that up with the room, you now have a total of about $422.

Yes, that's exactly the price I was quoted for a value with free dining (3 days, with 1 day base tickets). Funny, I also live in Tampa!
