Does anyone have the DSI? If you do you or your kids like it, can you get on the internet with it or is the internet just to play games with other people:confused3 The DS lite is more in my budget, but DS wants the DSI. Any reviews of either one? TIA

DH said he doesn't know if it has a web browser, but he doubts it. He says it just has an internet store for games. You can communicate with other DSIs. DH was debating about whether he wanted the DSI or the DS Lite. He decided on the DS Lite because it's backwards compatible with other Game Boy games. So he can still play all of his old games. The DSI is not, you can only play DSI
games.

My brother in law has a DSi. He likes it. He says you can browse the web with it. It also has a camera. For me, I have a plain old DS lite. I think it's fine. My brother in law says that there's really not too much to download right now in the DSi store anyway. For a kid, I think the DS lite is fine.

From what I understand the DSi also has a camera/video camera thing going on, like a cell phone. Middle DS has a DS Lite and wants the DSi and I think he's testing Santa (and me) by requesting the DSi when we went to see him last night but no way no how am I getting him one as he already has the DS lite which I've told him over and over and over. :headache:

I'm going to ask a friend's husband (guys just have different handwriting) to copy out a letter to him saying that Santa remembered that he already had a DS lite and due to all the requests for the DSi and the bad economy he's just couldn't bring it this year, but he hopes he enjoys his new iPod.

But aren't your old DSlite games compatible with DSi?:confused3

yes, but the Game Boy Advance games are only compatible with the DS Lite. My kids have about 30 GBA games and 4 DS games which is another reason we're sticking with the DS Lite.

my son has the ds lite and wanted the DSi. It was going to be a Christmas gift this year but we just read in a gaming magazine that next year they will be coming out with the DSi XL, it will be bigger with a bigger screen. I think it just released in Japan.

DS8 got a DSi for his birthday in October & loves it - my 11 yo DS is very jealous. I have to say it is very cool. It does have an internet browser & you can also download games with points you can buy (we haven't done that). It has 2 cameras & allows them to edit the pictures - all kinds of crazy things. It can also play music - and you can also get silly with that and play any song fast & high so it sounds like the chipmunks, or slow it down, etc... It has a spot for an SD card so you can save pictures on that, and that's where the music is stored so you can have tons of songs on it as well. I think there are some other features as well that I can't think of right now. If you can afford it, I'd go for the DSi.

Downside, you can't play game boy games in it - if that's important to you.

My two kids (12 & 10) both have a DSi and they love it, although my 12 year old plays his Wii more then the DSi. My 10 year old plays with hers all the time...Yes, they do have internet and you can go anywhere on the web and it also has a camera and you can also buy a memory card for them as well :)

My DD10 wants a DSi for Christmas, too. She's already got a DS. I'm thinking a netbook instead -- she can use it for webkinz, club penguin and poptropica, and there's a limited word processor she can use for some school projects. Unfortunately, with the weather in the 20s tonight, I chickened out of waiting for CompUSA, so I'll find whatever deals I can online instead of in person tomorrow a.m.
