DS14's China Trip So Far

For those that asked here is a quick update on their trip so far--they were supposed to fly out of Chicago Friday at 12:45PM, their plane FINALLY left at 9:45PM, almost 13 hours at Chicago O'Hare with 60 teenagers . They arrived pretty late in the evening Beijing time but was about noon our time. They went to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the ever famous Hard Rock Cafe Beijing (DS was the most excited about going here so he could get a t-shirt). They also spent time at a pearl factory and their daily blog said a lot of pearls were purchased so hopefully DS thought to get me some!

They have a concert scheduled for the Beijing Concert Hall for Monday night their time so I am excited to see how that goes.

Is your DS with his school orchestra or band? My dd(18) who is a freshman in college, will be going to China at the end of June with her previous high school orchestra. She is soooooo excited and so are we! Keep us posted--I'm really interested to hear the details.

He is traveling with his high school band. They take a trip like this every 3 years so he will get to go again when he is a senior and then our twins will be freshmen. We are hoping they go to Ireland and then we will all go .
