My oldest son plays the snare drum in our local pipe band and today he got a letter asking if he would be able to play at Harrods for a weekend in December. Mr Al Fayad has an estate up near where we live and they play for him occassionally but this is the 1st time he has invited them down to London. He is soooo excited and he has never been to London before, well except the aiprport:rotfl2:

What a fantastic experience for him:cool1:

Do you get to go, too?

Unfortunately i don't get to go. I think thats what he is most excited about. Luckily the other drummers in the band are older and as he is the only young kid they all look after him so he will be fine.

WOW! That will be quite an experience for him

Tonight DS is off to London. They are travelling down by sleeper train and then playing at harrods at various times tomorrow morning and early afternoon. he is so excited and looking forward to it. They are going to do a bit of sightseeing later tomorrow and early sunday morning before getting the train back hoem at lunchtime. he won't be home until about 9 pm so I think I'm going to have a very tired boy on sunday night and monday

I was shopping in Harrods this morning and it looks fantastic, it has a real Christmas feel to it. He will have a fantastic time as it's always packed and shoppers love shopping to music, well I do, I'm that person that hums along to tunes in stores, really annoys my sisters!

Bet they'll all have a brilliant time:thumbsup2

Hope they have fun :)

Kieran arrived home late last night and has had a brilliant time. He is very tired this morning and off to school a bit grumpy, think he was hoping for a day off.

He loved playing outside Harrods and he said that they were treated really well. Loads of food and drink provided throughout the day for them and then they were all given a goody bag with biscuits chocolates etc. He said the crowd watching was unbelievable and he said he got asked to get his picture taken loads of times.

At night they went on the London Eye and just had a walk around.

The only bad part of the weekend is that he left his brand new trainers on the sleeper train :scared1::scared1: so then had to wear his kilt shoes all the time. He looked good with joggers and kilt shoes when we collected him last night :rotfl2::rotfl2:.

Sounds like DS had a good time but what a shame he has lost his new trainers.

Be an early night tonight then.
