We were sitting watching TV. Everything going great, when all of a sudden DS (8) says to me...

"Mom, Santa knows my name, right?"

Me, "Yes, of course he does. You're on his big list."

Him, "Then how come everytime I see him, he asks me what my name is?"

I mumbled something about him getting bigger and that Santa doesn't recognize him. I think my answer satisfied him, but wow, talk about putting me on the spot!

Or how about "well, you have grown so much from last year he didn't recognize you".

The mall Santas are really Santa's helpers because he couldn't possibly be in all those different malls (that's why each one looks a little different!) at the same time. The real Santa is much too busy getting ready for Christmas!! So, of course the real Santa knows his name, but the helpers just can't keep track!!

Ha HA oh boy..he is a smart one!!!

too cute......

better make sure Santa uses different wrapping paper than you do.....

Yep. In the past, Santa has borrowed my paper, but this year he is definately going to use his own!

The Santa at MVMCP is the real deal though... took Walt years to write up a contract that they both could live with. Walt helps out with extra pixie for the elves and reindeer and Santa comes to MVMCP every year...

We made it a bit easier on ourselves: Santa's gifts are the unwrapped ones come Christmas morning. After all, don't most books & movies show Santa pulling unwrapped gifts from his bag? :rotfl:

When DS was in kdg he was excited that Santa came to school to visit his class. He was fine until he saw my cousin standing in the doorway. It was her DH playing Santa and he put 2 and 2 together that it was her DH. Luckily he didn't make a huge scene and blow it for the rest of the class. I came up with this on the spot. I told him Santa is too busy getting everything ready for Xmas and he has very very special people he asks to help him out. They get to dress as him and talk to the kids and find out what they want. Then they have to report back to Santa. I told him this was a very special honor for the people that get asked, very few get to do it. I told him maybe he would be lucky one day and get to do it. He thought that was the coolest thing and he loves the fact he gets to be in on such a grown up secret.
A sidenote, he gets to play Santa in the school program this year.
