Yesterday we had DS1's birthday party. One of his friends wanted to play with the *&^Mousetrap Game. So we got it out. All the friends left. DS2 (age 4 1/2) was playing with the game. I heard ds1 and my niece saying to ds2, take the marble out of your mouth. The next second they are saying DID YOU SWALLOW IT? DS2 was crying, he indeed swallowed the big metal marble that is used in the Mousetrap game!

I called the afterhours nurse and they said to watch him and it should "pass". I have to make sure that it does within 3-4 days.

This is the same child, who 3 or 4 months ago, poked in his ear with a Lego antenna and we had to go to the ER while visiting at Grandma's. He barely missed his eardrum, just scratched the ear canal.

UGH! :(  Parenting, always exciting.

Please, someone tell me they have a kid who does stupid stuff like this?

The son of a friend of mine stuck a rubberband up his nose about a year ago!!! That was real fun :o

That reminds me, this same ds stuck a raisin up his nose...2 different times!

It will pass. I swallowed one from the Hungry Hungry Hippo game when I was a baby and it turned up the next day, according to my parents

My sister stuck a piece of sponge up her nose and no one knew it for weeks. She got an upper resperatory infection that wouldn't go away. They finally found it.

I know it's scary when it happens. When my DS was a baby he swallowed a penny and I was SO upset. Felt like a terrible mother. It did appear in his diaper the next day, no harm done. This same DS packed both nostrils one day with little itsy bitsy pieces of apple:confused: Had to take him to get it all removed. Raising boys is an experience.

There's one in every family isn't there? My DS, now 13 swallowed two pennies on a dare from his older brother:rolleyes: He was about 4 at the time . The kids wanted me to try to "save" the pennies when they reappeared! Hugs to you- I know it's not fun when you're going through these things.

Pembo, I hope he is ok! That is a pretty big marble to swallow.

My sister is having a problem right now with her little girl (Shannon) who is almost 3 1/2. She keeps hiding under the play table in their basement when she is trying to do something she shouldn't. She found her under there one day with 8 pieces of gum in her mouth. About 2 weeks ago, Shannon took a pair of scissors and hacked away at her hair. My sister was so upset, especially since she was taking her to get her hair cut the next day. A few days ago, Shannon cut her hair again! My sister told her she was going to throw away all of her Barbie dolls if she does this again. I have to laugh, however, because Shannon's older brother is such an easy going child and never did anything like this. Shannon is driving my sister crazy!

I remember my cousin sticking dried beans in each of her nostrils. She keptt complaining that her face hurt. My grandmother took her to the dr's where they found this. She said that when they took them out it was the most awful smell in the world.
