Okay.. Okay.. so I am the extremely proud mother. My DS is graduating this weekend after 5 years of College with a degree in Education "Intervention Specialist". The better part is that today, he was offered "2" Jobs!!! Yippee :cool1:

I am so very proud of him. I can't even contain my excitement. He has worked so hard and is the first ever in our family to go to college! My dad passed away last July and he was my DS's inspiration from day one. He would be beaming! I know he is looking down on us and will surely be at his commencement.

I know there can only be good things to come for him and I truly believe he is going to make a difference in many lives.

I just had to share! Thanks all for listening.

That is way cool. Congratulations for your DS and for his family too!:cool1:

I know his Granddad is smiling down on the both of you now!! :cloud9: What a blessing!!! :dance3:

I got teary eyed about your dad beaming down on him...
Congrats to him :goodvibes

Congratulations! I know what it's like to be a proud Mama! (I keep wondering where those little boys went!? They grew up and became men!)

Thank you all so very much. It will certainly be bittersweet Saturday when we watch him walk without my dad there.

My dad had an old 1986 Chevy conversion van that was his pride and joy for a while before his last years. My son loved that thing because it belonged to his grandpa. My mom gave it to my him about a month ago. It needs quite a bit of work but it is driveable. We took it today to have new side mirrors and put new wiper blades on it so that he could drive it to graduation. He told us he wants to drive it so that his "Poppy" can be his co-pilot.

Congratualtion to your DS and the driving force behind him :thumbsup2! How wonderful he is graduating college with 2 job offers in these tough economic times! Bless his heart, what a sentimental young man you raised to want to drive his grandpa's van to graduation! I have no doubts grandpa is smiling and guiding from above! :goodvibes

Congratulations to your son, and also you for raising a great kid!

I've been reading on the internet how a very low percentage of college kids actually have job offers this year, so it says a lot about him that he has two of them!

My oldest is going to be a junior in college this fall and I am already worried about her getting a job in 2 years! :sad2:

Thank you! Actually the job market is one of the reasons that makes this all the more exciting.

To be honest, he is a little torn between the two jobs. This is all so very new. One of the schools is a need based/low income school which he then qualifies for loan forgiveness and the other school is not. However, he has been student teaching at the one that is not and loves it there. I just have to pray that God points him in the right direction.
