DS Lite's on Amazon?

Does amazon usually have sales on nintendo DS Lites? I want to order them through amazon to use the bill me later, but was wondering if they will be going on sale at all before I place my final order. Anyone have any insider scoops? (please say yes. )

I'm also looking for a deal on the DS lite, but what I read a few weeks ago on another thread is that the DS probably won't be on sale anywhere. Something like the a price requirement set up by Nintendo? Anyway, the best I've seen is a deal on a DS bundle a few weeks ago at TRU.

Nintendo has a price fix on their game systems. Meaning it will be the same price where ever you get it. Accessories and games are different story.

My Mom just bought one for my dd. It was $125 but shipped free and she saved about $9 on tax by buying it online.

I just did the same thing. I bought them online, and had free shipping with it. After doing some research, I realized they'll probably not be selling many during the holidays and I'd better get them now. They'll still be the same price either way.

I ordered the cobalt ds lite from Amazon- no shipping or sales tax!
I am going to wait on the games to see if TRU might do some kind of promotion. I want to buy a nintendogs game and the Animal Crossing Wild World.

I am going to wait for a promotion as well. I really want to find a good deal on games. I ordred two Ds's from amazon. We got the metallic rose and the coral pink.

I used the Live.com search/eBay deal (from another thread) to buy one on eBay- I had to play around with it a bit, but ended up getting a brand new pink one for a net of 97.99, shipped. (Although paypal, being paypal, will probably take a couple of bucks when the rebate goes into my account.) You have to jump through some hoops- set up a Live.com account, use their link, it had to be a "buy it now auction", the seller couldn't use a third party checkout, I had to pay by paypal, and now I have to wait 60 days to get my money back, but it's for Christmas so I'm not too worried. I paid $139.99 total- a slightly inflated price but "free shipping" and there is a $42 refund pending in my Live account. Unfortunately, the Live.com rebate is now down to 25%, but I'll be watching for it to go back up to 30%.


I had been looking for a while- ToysRUs runs deals on packages, but the nearest one is 30 minutes away & they are always out of their "specials"- even 30 minutes after opening on Sundays And if you buy online you get socked with shipping. Even buying at the regular price at a local big box, I would pay 6% sales tax- 129.99 x 1.06= 137.79. So this was by far the best deal I found for a new DS Lite.

You probably won't find ne with a big discount as the previous posters said.

But...I just got one from Circuit City when they had an offer for a free game when you buy the DS. It was a $20 game, so not bad. I'm sure there will be deals similar to this in the near future.
