and I need advice and info.!!! Does anyone know if the liquid inside of these globes is purely water or if it's water mixed with something nasty like antifreeze? The small globe broke into pieces and the liquid is now all over his area rug. I put some carpet cleaner on the area (after vacuuming up the glass and glitter).

Do you think it's safe for him to have the rug in his room or should I remove it?

(P.S. DS is 7 and so he won't lick it or anything like that...)

Has anyone ever had this happen?

TIA!

I wouldn't worry....especially if it was just the mini globe. My daughter broke one of the bigs ones a few months back and we just soaked it up with towels, vacumed, and aired out the room and it was fine. She was just under two at the time and there was not problems after the fact.

Don't quote me, but I remember a project where you made a snowglobe out of a jar and used a few drops of cooking oil to keep the glitter separated, I think. So I wouldn't worry about it.

I would call the merchandise line and have a new one sent.....

Thanks all for your responses. I read that some globes either have water and oil or water and antifreeze mixed in them. The "water" had an odor to it so I know it's not just plain water. I'm sure DS will be fine. Just had a mini-freakout moment.

You state Poison Control Center will probably have the answers you're looking for.:thumbsup2
