DS having morning sickness??

Just kidding of course, but for some reason the past two mornings he has been waking up with vomiting and extreme diarrhea from about 6:00am - 12:00 noon!

What in the world could this be?? After his little spells in the morning he seems to be fine. Wants to play..has an appetite for just about anything. (though I've been making him stick to very bland food)

I called our Dr. yesterday, and left a message with the front desk to have a nurse call me, but they didn't!

I'm about to call them again.

Anybody ever delt with anything like this??

Oh..and DS is 8 BTW.

My son used to wake up vomiting, but it was only an hour or two after he went to bed--gastric reflux. Medication and an extra pillow fixed it.

As far as your son, I'd look at the possibility of a food allergy. Something he's eating every night before bed?

He does have a glass of milk every night before bed, but he's been doing that for years, so I hope it's not that.

I did just talk to someone and found out that one of the little girls he plays with has been home sick for the last couple of days. I haven't been able to find out what's going on with her though.

when I've had major flareups it has included vomiting.

When I was 15, I woke up one morning with the same. This went on every morning for about 2 weeks. Of course my parents hit the roof and thought I was pregnant. I tried to tell them you can't be pregnant if you don't do anything but..... Anyways, I was sent to my grandmother's doctor in Miami to have tests done and they finally figured out I was having problems with my sugar levels. For a while, first thing in the AM, I would have to choke down a piece of bread with peanut butter to get my levels straight.

My 6 yo DS has done the same thing yesterday and today. I'm sure it's just a stomach virus going around, but he was so darn perky after lunch yesterday I thought that was the end of it. But no, 4:30 this morning he was back at it.

Hopefully it has run its course. If you hear anything from the Dr., please post.
