Does anyone know if the restaurants can provide the nutritional information in the food served?

For example, DS has a severe dairy allergy therefore can not have any foods with milk, butter, casein or whey. Some chicken nuggets have some of these products in the breading. Many restaurants around here have the ingrediants in their foods available to their customers.

Let me know if anyone has any information.
Thanks

I dont know that they will give you a list per se, however, if you contact the restaurants you will be eating at, the chefs will most definitely accomodate his food allergy. They'll let you know what he can eat and in a lot of cases make special arrangements. They are very good about this!

but just in case, you'll want to avoid hot dogs, also. My dd cannot have any dairy products and I discovered the info about hot dogs while reading labels in the grocery store. And frozen french fries! Who would have thought they use whey as a browning agent?
But I remember reading that WDW will make special meals if you notify the restaurant 24 hours in advance. I know they will provide kosher hotdogs (no dairy) if you ask. I'm not sure about chicken nuggets or strips though.

try calling WDW-DINE I'm sure they can get you some info, or help you plan.

It really helps! I think I am just going to have to do food shopping for him when we get down there to be sure.

Are there microwaves in the baby centers? I could warm up his food there and just bring it with me to the restaurant.

Hunnypots- Wow I never knew that about french fries. That's always my safe food. I have never come across a brand with whey in it. Do you remember the name brands?

thanks again all

My ds used to have a dairy allergy so I feel your pain. He fortunately outgrew it (hoping for the same for your child) but we will still be stopping at Wal-mart for soy milk, sine he never learned to like the taste of regular milk.

http://www.wdwig.com/guestfood.htm Here is an article about visiting Disney with food allergies. Sounds like they will definitely accomodate any needs you might have. Best of luck to you!

Have you read wdwig.com they have a page or two dealing with allergies and dining at WDW and other allergies at WDW and how to handle it.

Here is one:

Hi-

Last June I was diagnosed with celiac disease (autoimmune disease caused by gluten which is found in wheat, oats, rye, & barley). It is found in almost EVERYTHING (and its hidden in many other ingredients as well). In addition, as a result of the CD, I can not eat dairy or egg products either. Anyway, we had a vacation planned to WDW prior to my diagnosis. Didn't want to disappoint my two sons so we contacted the Chefs at WDW. They knew much more than I did about CD and they were able to cater to my needs. Instead of asking me what can I eat, they would ask what would you like to eat. They are wonderful!!!! Going on vacation to WDW is the only time we eat out of our home. Because of their strong knowledge about CD and cross-contimination issues, we bought into DVC which allows me 2 weeks of freedom and good health.

THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!! You will not have any trouble.

Have fun!

I just wanted to "ditto" Disneyatheart's post. I have a severe fish allergy, which causes all kinds of problems eating at most restaurants because of their lack of knowledge about cross-contamination, hidden ingredients, etc. WDW is wonderful! They will gladly work with you & really care about keeping you safe.

I am always worried about cross contamination and whether or not the chefs are really cooking his food in a separate pan. I glad to hear all of your positive reports.
Thanks
