I am looking for suggestions for DS games for our trip, I would love Disney themed suggestions, but am willing to go non-disney if it will be a game the kids will like.

So far I have gotten DS (7) Lego Indiana Jones 2 (ok,not disney, but at least there is an indiana jones ride...)

I am stuck on DD (5- non reading). She currently likes Super Mario Bros, LPS, Pinki Pie Party, and Color Corral. She has finished I Spy

We have Disney Princess Enchanted Journey for the Wii, it is not a favorite.
Tinkerbell I have heard takes quite a bit of reading

So for DD, any suggestions for good Disney games or just ones that are easy to play, no skil involved games (like Super Mario Bros)

My kids are the exact same ages as yours these are their favorites (they have several of the ones you already listed)

DS7
Lego Star Wars
Bakugan
Hot Wheels
Transformers
Super Hero Squad (have for wii)

DD5
Zhu Zhu Pets
Dora games (we have dora puppy & dora mermaid)
My vurtual Tutor Reading K-1(this is a little hard, but is good for learning)
The next game I am thinking about getting her Build a Bear

I find the Spongebob games are too hard for them and they always ask for help. We also have Disney friends but they really do not play it. I agree about the Princess game for the wii. We have it too and it is hard. Sorry none of my suggestions are Disney, but I find all of the girl Disney games are too hard (require reading). HTH

The kids have been asking for the Zhu Zhu Pets game (only because they see it on comercials), can you tell me a bit more about it?

My kids favorite games are Lego Batman, cookin mama, sims and the Mario games.

I am a big fan of the Professor layton games. I don't know if you play the DS too...but those are great for puzzle loves.

We have one copy of Super Mario Bros, which my kids fight over. I dont know enough about the other mario platform games to know which are good.

But yes, Mario Bros is the exact type of game I am looking for. It provides hours of playtime and you can play with minimal skil level. It does not require reading and unlike some games (I Spy or My Little Pony Party) it is not complelted and over in 2 days time

So any specific Mario suggestions?

If your kids like to play games together, try Mario Party. It is essentially a bunch of mini games that they can play either cooperatively or competitively. My 5 year old daughter loves it and plays it with both older and younger sisters. The only challenge for my 4 year old is figuring out how to play some of the mini games (each has a short description before the game starts and she doesn't read yet). My 5 year old will read for her. If you like to join in, you may enjoy this one as well; we have 4 kids and I like to play with the girls when I can get my hands on one of their DSs.

My DD who is also 5 loves build a bear, littlest pet shop, Kirby and she can do the Tinkerbell 2 game fine and she can't read. She also likes Lovely Lisa I do have to help her a bit though.

My DS 8 likes all of the pokemon games, Club Penguin which is Disney as well as Wall E.

Almost anything Mario for sure, for either DS or DD my daughter is 7 and she loves them. Also for DD the Princess and the Frog is a good game. Not too much reading and very easy to follow DD loves it.

My daughter (6) loves Build a Bear, Lovely Lisa, Cooking Mama, Gardening Mama, and also has several "make up and fashion show" type games that she plays with a lot.

My kids are DD7 and DS9 - so just a little bit older than yours. The favorite game for both of them right now is Scribblenauts - they fight over who gets to play! I didn't read every reply above, but I'll say that my DS loves all of the Lego games (Star Wars, Batman & Indiana Jones); my DD loves Princess Peach & the Barbie Style game (can't remember the exact name on that one!) Hope that helps!

zhu zhu is good its like little mazes they have to find thier way through...very addictive. My little boy is hooked on mario cart and Pokimon gold and platinum.

My son just turned 7. He really loved Rhythm Heaven and the Monkeyball maze games. We had to lose Mario Kart as he was completely addicted to it.

There is a Disney friends game where you care for disney characters similar to a pets game...and on the same note he loves all of them, Catz, dogz, nintendogs, ets.

2 daughters, 9 and 6. I'll vouch for Mario Party. The oldest said this was the only game she wanted when we bought her the DS. They all play it on the bus together in school.

After bedtime, when they should be sleeping, I will walk into the hallway and see a strange light under the door of my 9 year old. I can see it when standing in front of the 6 year old's door as I listen to the giggling and hear her DS running because at 6, she isn't smart enough to turn the sound down.

They play Mario Party constantly. They've had it for a year now I think and still play it together.
