We were suppose to go to DLP leaving in the morning but DS said he would rather go to the indoor slide pool. I have to say that not being out in the snow and cold seems nice.

I agreed to do the slide pool and we will take off for DLP when it warms up just a bit but snow and cold, not for us this time.

There's no snow and it's not cold :confused3 unless you are talking about where you are .

Hope your son has a lovely birthday wherever he spends it :cheer2:

It's just been showery and quite warm for the time of year at DLP today.

Isnt there a pool, in your hotel?? Seems such a shame to through away all your hard earned money just like that :confused3

We were offsite for this trip so no money loss, just a Mom who loves Disney watching her son grow up and want something other than Disney.:(

We fly out on the 23rd and dd1 7yrs didnt want to come originaly even suggested staying at her grandparents. It was all booked and payed for so she had no choice. She has started to come around to the idea since and i even ordered her a merida costume that she says she will wear. Dd2 on the other hand is beyond excited!!!

Do kids really grow out of it so young nowadays?

I can remember being excited about going when I was 15/16!

my 6yr old son didnt want to go back to disney this year, he wanted to go back to Butlins of all places!

so after booking butlins for this may, hes now asking to go back to disney again this year! typical.

My DD is nearly 12, and she does want to go again, but not this year (we just had a trip to DLP last month). She wants to try a different holiday destination, somewhere with a bit of sun and a bit of touristy stuff.

I wonder if its maybe because we have gone to DLP so often in the last 6 years?

We are planning to take my youngest niece with us to DLP in a couple of years, and I know my DD will be happy doing that :).

Let me just say that DS did ask for WDW for his birthday but with airfare so expensive we had to say no, not this year. Then we offered up DLP and although the idea was there and reservations made. He doesn't like it being super cold, and it was so cold yesterday.

We went to an indoor slide pool and he liked it. Now we are trying to plan a trip down on the 25th to meet friends from the States.

My 14 year old hasn't grown out of it, he misses DLP as much as I do and even my 19 year old after a couple of years absence has asked to tag along next trip. :thumbsup2

I think it depends on the parents tbh. If there into it the kids prob will. I dont like disney i never have even as a child. I go coz my kids want to, dont get me wrong i enjoy been there but id never go without them. I dont actually know any adults who do, everyone would be like me they go for the kids and most would only go once or twice. Dd1 is 7.5 and none of her friends would still like disney and she is from a class of 35. Dd2 is 6 and still luvs princess ect but i stiil reckon this will be the last yr for her too.

I'm nearly 23, I'm excited! My friend and I have both have no children. Don't need children to go. I guess you wouldn't bother if you didn't like it though. Just like I wouldn't go on a 'beach holiday' as the thought of lying on a beach all day bores the soul out of me pixiedust:

oh im not saying it just for kids, i do enjoy been there just to see the kids faces but id enjoy anywhere there happy if you get me. I know there is plenty of adults who actually love disney with kids or not, this forum as open my eyes up to that fact lol!!
My point was i think if the parents didnt have a love of disney most kids out grown it at 7/8. If their parents love it they will prob love going back well past 7/8. We always go on beach hols but never go to the beach lol!! We go for the weather and getting to spend everyday in the water. I havnt gone on my type of holiday in 8yrs , oh the joys of having kids lol!!

That makes me laugh when people go on about being bored on beach holidays.

We go on beach holidays and would never be spending all day on the beach.

We enjoy the sun but we visit lots of places (villages, musuems, parks and gardens etc etc)

When it gets really hot we stay in the shade near the pool and then late afternoon head off again.

I think the only real time we spend on the beach is early morning ( a walk or a swim) and early/late evening again for a walk/swim or a drink and a meal.

I'd have never gone to Disneylike I have if we hadn't moved near to it. That's why Florida doesn't interest me in the slightest it's not my idea of a holiday.

As a 25 year old guy, I can say I disagree... I love the place, takes me away from everything that's horrible about the world these days and I'm a Disney addict, always will be.
