DS car was stolen

Our DS was supposed to come home on Friday from West Chester U. for the weekend. When he went to get his car (2blocks from the apt he lives in) it was gone. He called the towing companies and police and there was no record of it being towed. It shouldn't have been, it was legally parked. So he had to report it stolen. I feel so bad for this kid. It was a 94 Honda Accord that he hoped to get one more summer out of. He graduates this May and was hoping to get a new car once he started working.

Is this common in West Chester, PA. I always thought it was a rather nice area. I wouldn't have been as surprised if it had been my other DS in College Park, MD.

Oh well, I guess it's car shopping time.

ugh, sorry to hear the bad news...that bites.
I had my car stolen when I was attending college also. It was found a few weeks later...completely gutted, for parts.

I am sorry to hear of this..
just to let you know.. We have had three.. yup THREE cars stolen over the last 15 years. In 1988 we had a Toyota Tercel stolen from a Casino parking lot in Laughlin, Nevada. In 1992, dh's 4x4 Toyota truck was stolen from our driveway... recovered by two Marines who were in a desolate part of the Mojave desert about 8 miles from our home-29days after its disappearance.. it was a mess but salvagable...
1998-Aerostar Van stolen from our driveway in San Jose... found 2 weeks later.. trashed and they stole those heavy 2nd and 3rd row bench seats out of it.. I think someone was living in it because we found yucky stuff in it.. very yucky...

We began to wonder if State Farm would even insure us... or believe us for that matter.. but they did....

We were living in nice family oriented neighborhoods too....

You KNOW that the THIEVES mama's taught them better.. I will never understand how people decide it is ok to TAKE someone elses belongings.....

Best of luck car shopping. Btw.. Honda Accords are one of the top cars to be stolen in the US.

That stinks. Honda Accords and Ford F-150 trucks have one of the highest rates for being stolen. Something to do with parts.

That sucks about the car. Unfortunately, Accords in the 90's were among the most highly stolen cars on the planet. Has alot to do with the parts, mainly the interchangeability across model years and the "boy-racer" crowd that have begun souping them up over the years. It kind of bugs me how bad it's gotten over the years as far as how easy it is to get into some cars...particularly the ones with the plastic/inset door handles. Sorry to hear about the loss of his car.

Actaully West Chester is sort of a sleepy town.. but with a college in it. There is a "happening" section, the one with the college in it.. but really it could happen anywhere...
