DS Birthday at Disney

We will be making our first trip home early this June. We scheduled it overlapping my DS's sixth B-Day. We are staying at VWL and were planning on going to Epcot that day. I was thinking we could take an afternoon trip to BCV since we have never been there but are very interested in staying there in the future, and stop at Cape May Cafe for a B-Day treat. Does anyone else have any suggestions on special B-Day things that a 6yr old boy would like?

We celebrated my DD's 6th birthday in January, we were at AKL and WLVs. At AKL, she recieved a beautiful cake in the room, it even had her name and birthday written on it. Make sure you stop by guest services on your DS's birthday and he will get a special button to wear all day. He will get lots of Birthday greetings from cast members as well as most of the characters sign the autograph books with a happy birthday greeting. My daughter felt very special that day, she just loved the little bit of extra attention. Hope you DS has the same special day

I asked this same question a while back and got some great responses! (My DS is turning 6 during our May trip!) We are going to do Whispering Canyon for lunch that day, after the morning at MK. Of course if you're staying at VWL then maybe WC is not such an "extra special" thing to do for a birthday. Other ideas people said were getting a cake and balloons from the resort (some said buy, some said that the resort will do balloons in your room just to be nice as a surprise, if you tell them when making your ressie that there's a birthday boy.) Definitely the birthday button. What about a ride in those surrey bikes -- my ds would get a huge kick out of that. They have them at the Boardwalk. Or renting water mice, something like that?

I hope you have a GREAT trip, and your ds's birthday will certainly be memorable no matter what you decide to do. How can you go wrong being at WDW?
