I wasn't feeling well and was laying on the couch when DS who is 9 came over beside me. He was looking all sympathetic at me and started running his fingers through my hair.
He said "I wish you felt better" and gave me a sweet little smile then he says "My, your hair feels just like....." he pauses trying to think of just the right words then says ".........strong string!!!!!"
My hair feels like strong string!!!! :lmao: :lmao:
I tried so hard not to laugh as he was trying to be kind and make me feel better---I darn near fell off the couch laughing! :rotfl2:
I really hope the little guy works on his compliments before he starts dating otherwise he's in for a life of trouble with the girls!! ;)

:rotfl2: Well, it DID make you feel better, didn't it? How cute!

We still tease dd about when she was little and she told DH (who has white hair--and a LOT of it, very curly. He used to wear it longer until I talked him into wearing it short), "I love your hair. It looks just like clouds." :lmao: Now when dh's hair starts getting too long, I tell him his hair is starting to look like clouds again.

That is so sweet. :) What a great little man you have there.

"Little Man" is what we have called him for about 3 years now....he is just a little gentleman, very quiet. I could tell when he was going to say it that he was trying to think of just the "right" words to make me feel good. When I started to giggle I threw my arms around him and told him he just made my day--he beamed, knowing he'd made his mom feel better:goodvibes :goodvibes

:rotfl2: That is so cute! When DD was 5 she wispered to me, "Don't tell daddy, but he is missing hair on top of his head". :lmao: :lmao: Kids say the darndest things. OP hope your feeling better soon. Sounds like DS is giving you the best medicine.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That is too cute! Funny, but cute!

Not one of the smoother lines you could hear :smooth: but I'm sure it made you laugh.

I once drew a picture of my 3rd grade teacher with a birdnest on top of her head. She always wore her hair teased and swirled up on top and it was so lovely--just like a beautiful birdnest. She was not amused. I got detention.

What a sweet story! It reminded me of one time when my DD and I were looking for my husband in the store and she exclaimed "There's my daddy! I know it's my daddy," she said in the sweetest voice with a look of love on her face, "because he's the one with no hair on top of his head." :rotfl2:

He has a ways to go before he starts schmoozing the ladies! :lmao:

Seriously, that was very cute! Thanks for sharing!

All I got was my DD walking in and asking me if I'd been crying. For the record, I have not been. I must not have it going on today.

Your son sounds cute! What a great way to make you feel better.

What a cute story! Yep, he'd better work on a few things before he starts dating, but he probably has a few years. :teeth:

Thanks for sharing. I love your DS's comment. :thumbsup2
Kind of reminded of the time my DD told me she loved to cuddle with me because I was so soft. :rotfl:

I love when they say things like this :rotfl: ...it takes a good parent to not burst out laughing!

That is cute. He's going to be a charmer.
